Benavidez lmao hilarious. What does Benavidez bring to the table. His best win is dirrell who wnt life and death with Yildirim. Benavidez also has no belt to offer Canelo. Beating David adds nothing to Canelo’s legacy.Oldskoolg likes this.

The real winners are Canelo’s legal team whom seen all the hard data from the DAZN contract vs anything new.
Haymon wanted to offer Canelo a 3 fight deal for $75mil. Canelo declined and ended up making a better deal with just Plant. Assume Charlo and Benavidez have to maintain $40mil as the new standard, then it because a fight deal of $120mil and not $75mil.
Canelo isn’t married to PBC like other fighters whom have to give Haymon 10 percent. It’s probably why Haymon weaseled his way to recover that 10 by having Showtime pick it up.
it all comes down to Showtime if they want to reboost their boxing metrics since Mayweather leave. Meaning Espinosa would decide if Canelo’s premium is more than Floyd’s original $33mil per fight. Obviously Canelo, with the inflation since 2013, is making more than Floyd’s $200mil 6 fight deal. So does Espinoza and his superiors feel that Showtime would benefit from Canelo today and compete with other competitive offers?
I would prefer some 175 guys at DAZN after Plant, but it seems like many many fans even the purple slurpers want to see Canelo in action just to fight the Charlo Bros., Spence, Benavidez. Maybe in such a timeframe the 175 division might have an Undisputed all belt holder and Canelo takes the DAZN offer then for a whopping payday.
I’m actually really excited for Callum Smith vs Ramirez for a title fight. It would be a huge fight. Canelo could fight that winner. Or Bivol or Beterbiev fight that winner, Canelo fights the last man standingZ.
too many dynamics at the moment. It also depends on how frequent Canelo intends to fight here forward.
on the bright side, if Canelo continues to fight on PBC maybe Breadman will write an apology mailbag and hop the wagon

Terrific fighter and glad that Canelo is getting high pay for fights with the PBC, I can't blame him or them. Line them up and knock them down, Canelo should look sensational against most PBC fighters between 160 - 175lbs because most are unproven (by design) having never fought top level (by choice) either inside or outside of the PBC.
Canelo should blast through the PBC lineup and at the same time share a little wealth.
That said, I don't consider any fighter at 168 to be competitive or PPV worthy.
