Thank you Manny for all you've given to the sport. It was one hell of a ride.

In my mind there are only so many true " greats " . Pacman is one of them. Ali, Duran, Robinson, Pacquiao, Ray Leonard . Those are the top 5 of all time.
if you ignore the 9 wins he has over hof fighters, he still has one of the top couple resumes over the last twenty years. I say nine but it could be as many as 12 if Hatton or Bradley were to get in.
Oscar Larissa was also a very good fighter that he beat, not to mention the guys he beat pre barrrera.Mike D likes this.

Sad day indeed but it was inevitable. I'm just so happy I was alive during his run. It was amazing. The excitement he generated before fights was amazing. Specifically for me, it was during the Barrera/Morales times and what he accomplished down at the lower weights before he got to WW. The pre-fight hype I had then was similar to a young kid about to get a new toy or something. He definitely helped me get through my younger years.
I hope he can go on and enjoy his life to the fullest (probably not if he's getting into politics) but ultimately enjoys everything he has earned in his life. He's an incredible story that I don't think will ever be replicated again. Not in our life time and who knows in the future. He's for the history books in many different aspects.
Thanks again for all the amazing memories. BTW - If it wasn't already obviousy, I created this name out of being a fan of his sometime in 2004 when I discovered this forum.

Absolutely incredible career that defied logic. My favorite fighter BY FAR to watch. Pacquiao will be remembered forever as one of the greatest to ever lace them up and grace a boxing ring. If there's ever a Mount Rushmore of boxing, he should be on it.
Thank you for the amazing memories, Manny. Enjoy retirement and best of luck in your political career.

good to see Manny retire with good health as of now, now he can go on to be president of the Philippines, I remember as a kid seeing his Ledwaba fight in the DLH vs Castillejo undercard, then a few more fights on HBO even on a pretty boy Floyd undercard lol, then came the Barrera fight and I knew he would destroy one of my huge idols at the time, then next was Marquez, I loved Mannys style even tho he was destroying all my Mexican warriors and I was hated at every boxing party cause I was the buggy little kid that rooted for Pacquiao knowing he'd win and every grown Mexican was stubborn my dad always taught me that bet on the money and not who I want to win, fortunate to have HBO as a kid got to see all these now legends careers rise
One of the GOATs for sure, some of the most exciting fights, greatest fight ive seen in my opinion was Pacquiao vs Marquez 4 excitement at the moment was unbelievable
