Comments Thread For: Eubank Jr. on Golovkin: That's a Fight A lot of Fans Want To See

This is the first time I can recall Eubank Jr calling out GGG. Murata has flown under the radar it seems because he's not considered in the same league as the top dogs at 160.
GGG is nearly 40, and although probably still in good condition and a viable threat, it's just not the same when he had the opportunity 4-5 years ago when GGG was considered if not the best, then definitely at the top with Canelo, Jacobs, BJS.
He's only fought three times since his lone loss to Canelo 3 years ago, and by Golovkin's standards, that's lackluster. He seemed to struggle against Derevyanchenko after dominating the early rounds, and some believe he lost that fight.
If Eubank was serious he would be calling out Charlo, Munguia, Andrade.
At best he's been a contender, yet despite that, his main appeal is his aggression. I wouldn't ignore a fight between him and GGG, it has its merits, but I think he's aiming low, going for the biggest pay-day with the smallest risk - at times that's ok, but he's been around long enough now and at that stage in his career when he either will be looking for legacy fights, or looking to cash out.

Jr. lives in a world of his own, I wonder who he gets that from! Golovkin is nearly forty years of now and as Jr. and co know he's there for the taking . Jr. has done nothing of note in his 'career' to date and doesn't deserve to be fighting a nobody at the top of the bill .Jr has turned out to be a waste, sad really.

Lol Eubank was understandably not ready when fans wanted that fight. Afterall, he could not even get past BJS or Groves. He has, surprisingly added a few names to his resume, Abraham, Korobov, DeGale. But I think he showed fans more in his losses to BJS and Groves than in his wins over those other 3. But he is delusional if he thinks fans are interested in him vs GGG now that GGG is 40 years old. Fans can talk about how Canelo needs to fight him again, but at the end of the day nobody actually cares due to his age. No fighter will get any credit for beating GGG at this point.

That only leaves Charlo or Andrade, unless wba are going to make Lara defend against him before unifying "world" and "super"?
"Asked if he’s always looked to pinpoint a fight with Golovkin, Eubank Jr was emphatic in his response.
Eubank Jr said: “Absolutely."
Eubank is in serious danger of relegating himself into the same bracket as Amere Khon with comments like this!
