The promoter of the event should be charged with manslaughter.

Terrible. Women's boxing can be so dangerous because of how shallow the talent pool is. On paper it didn't seem like a terrible mismatch, but when you look at the age disparity (31yrs vs 18yrs)... man. What a tragedy.

Did anyone actually see this fight? Was it a total mismatch??

Ending is on Youtube. Heartbreaking to watch, I don't recommend it. She's on her feet but in a coma from the moment the last punch lands.

I am reading on a French site that she was beaten and brutally KOd in May after a 2 year layoff. The other girl's trainer said he was shown a clip of this fight in the past few days, and if the video had been online beforehand the fight would have never been made. Apparently she took a serious beating and didn't go to the hospital after.

EDIT: Found the video. She does not take the punches well at all, and is out cold on the floor for an extended period after the fight.

              Absolutely heartbreaking.

                Of course it was.

99-percent of the sport is mismatches.

It has to stop. This is what happens.

Rest in Peace. That was very sad watching her struggle to stay up as she leaned on the corner.

I saw the TKO just now. This is why I do not care if a ref stops a fight "prematurely". It is the ref that people will come to with pitchforks first. Ref's like Steve Smoger were praised for allowing prolonged beatings but that really is irresponsible. Fighters are pressured to take beatings and not quit because of the onslaught from fans and media and labels of quitter. So someone could be in there literally dying in order to please the couch fan who wants them to "go out on their shield" when the last time that fan took a punch from anyone was probably never or a long time ago in 5th grade.

Not saying that ref's should be stopping fights like Calzaghe vs Manfredo. But when you see hard blows being landed unanswered, it's time to stop it.

Sad to hear. There was a report that she was doing a bit better but she didn't pull through.
