Comments Thread For: Vergil Ortiz: Doesn't Matter If Crawford, Spence, Pacquiao - You Name It, I'll Fight Anyone

Vergil Ortiz Jr. has become familiar with the recurring theme following each win these days. The unbeaten welterweight contender from Grand Prairie, Texas rose to the occasion over the weekend, scoring five knockdowns en route to an eighth-round knockout of Lithuania's Egidijus Kavaliauskas (22-2-1, 18KOs) this past Saturday at Ford Center at The Star in nearby Frisco. Ortiz accepted the fight while awaiting a bigger opportunity in the lucrative 147-pound division, namely a crack at reigning WBO titlist Terence 'Bud' Crawford (37-0, 28KOs).

I really hope he doesn't lose that hunger and willingness to want to fight everyone. Seems nowadays when they fight their first real champ and get a taste of money to come it all changes

I still think Crawford will win vs Vergil at this point in time.

He's not ready for neither of them. they will finish him off once they hurt him like the basic 1-2 puncher opponent that made him hold and hug Haney

I'd love to see JT fight Vergil then on to Crawford. Won't happen but I can dream lol.

              You're right, Vergil.

There's so much sh/t going on in boxing right now that no one knows what they have to do to get their shot.

The promoters like it like this, that way they can use the chaos to protect or maneuver their fighters up the rankings safely.

In a real sport there would be a clear path for the best to face the best. Sadly we don't have that in boxing.

no one but crawford stands a chance vs Ortiz. Spence doesn't stand a chance. Got $10,000 on Ortiz if this fight ever happens.

I am a fan of this kid, I just like his attitude.

I felt like he could have lost to Kavaliauskas, but he did a great job.
