It's late replacement for both fighters.
Ugas was also training for another fighter (Maidana).
Bother fighters are affected so it's somewhat fair.
Also, adjustments are needed on both sides cause Manny was preparing for a Southpaw and Ugas was preparing for an Orthodox fighter.

It’s the perfect opportunity for Ugas to win.
That's my concern too. Ugas and Spence cant be any farther apart in styles so an adjustment and win by Manny will be difficult at best.

That's why Pac will always be a considered a champion in my book. He is world class. Look at how gracious he is toward Erroll Spence.

He said he is willing to give him a second chance. I hope he defeats Ugas on the 21st so those two could fight by the early part of next year.

Many is a helluva fighter and a helluva man!

Fabian Maidana only got announced about a week ago. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Ugas is a good fighter, but this is not what we looked forward to unfortunately. It's like you sat down to a gourmet meal, and then got McDonalds.

Problem is he will be older again.

It's a real bummer that this happened to Spence. Pacman had skipped a lot of training when he fought Thurman due to political stuff, and it showed when the energizer bunny ran out of batteries early. Insiders said he didn't make that mistake in this camp, and boom, he now has to fight against someone defending Pacman's belt grrr. We can't be blamed for smelling something fishy. Damn WBA, this ridiculous org still gets paid well.
It will take approximately two weeks of laser treatment to seal the retinal tear in his left eye before it can fully heal. He doesn't have a detached retina; Which could cause permanent vision loss and blindness if not treated early and would also require extensive surgery. Spence should be just fine. He would be able to resume his boxing career thanks to God!

You are right. It is a scary proposition. This condition appeared to have been a gradual process. I don't believe that it happened over night.

If it had, then he would have gotten his eyes checked out much sooner. I believe he was probably experiencing some complications from it this time. He appeared to be just fine against Danny Garcia after the car accident.

I am not a doctor but I don't believe this was a boxing related injury. I believe he probably sustained the injury in that car accident two years ago but had gone undetected. He is blessed that he didn't lose that eye altogether.

You are absolutely correct. Ugas is a counter puncher with a very low punch volume; Who doesn't like to engage, trade or throw many punches. He likes to fight in spurts and pick his spots very carefully. Which is why he already has 4 losses on his record. He is just not that active enough. I don't see a scenario where he outworks and out punches Pac is this match up.
