But you are if your stating everyone has to be a great ? You listed different fighters of different eras so I’m not even sure what your getting at and how that relates to this era which is filtered with good fighters you say aren’t around. If Louis actually fight most guys who were sub par you would really be mad today and say how mismatched the fights were .

If Fury doesn`t fight Wilder or somebody else in october, I am done with him.

I still believe he is the top dog, but he is all talk, very little action.

To your point, the whole premise that guys should be sitting it out because they can't fight Joshua or Fury is ridiculous. What ALL the other contenders in the division should be doing is striving to become the top guy who isn't Fury or Joshua. Because if there is a fight and a rematch you want to be the guy waiting in the wings.

I don't understand why that concept is so difficult in boxing. Can't fight the champ? Beat everyone else so you a) pressure the champ to fight you, the main contender and b) improve your skills and experience so you may actually win.

        smh

Theres quite a large pool of talent around and fighters who could face each other, to move up ranks but these guys either want ‘soft’ touches or to be in there with the belt holders.

The lack of top heavyweight fights is the biggest problem in boxing. Even mega talents like Ali & Tyson would be nowhere as big as they are in history if they fought as little as this current crop.

3 of the 4 belts are sitting with Joshua. The WBC, Fury and Wilder have taken the other one out of the equation for years. Mandatories aren't coming around too often in this era.

Rankings are one thing. Profile is the other. Too many fighters are sitting on their rankings hoping someone else screws up and they get their big shot.

If you want those fights, you need to build demand. Best the guys around you. Generate some clamour for the fight.

The guys hoping to fight for the belts are unknowns to the casual fans who drive the PPV sales which make the big fights. It's prizefighting - business beats sport.

The article was discussing how guys may wait it out for the Fury-Joshua ashes to settle in the hopes of getting their ticket. But, you listed off a good list of guys who should be fighting each other in the meantime. They'd be worthwhile fights that would put them in line for the shot at Fury or Joshua, or whoever is/are the titleholder when the dust settles on

                    Wallin vs Breazeale

Parker vs Chisora ( controversy win )

                    Usyk vs AJ is happening

                    Fury vs Wilder postponed

                    AJ just fought Pulev

                    Ruiz vs Ortiz soon possibly.

                    Whyte fought Povetkin twice

Coffie vs Washington will eliminate someone there in a good match up .

Fighters are running away from Hrgovic ( blame them )

Joyce is now mandatory for the winner of AJ vs Usyk and fought DDD already.

The Fury card itself had Efe vs Sanchez a barn burning fight but was cancelled blame Fury .

This list shows how boxing fans have attention spans like gold fish and forget Covid stalled a lot of things . Listed very good matches here and why some haven’t happened yet . The only one ppl should complain about is Ortiz but it won’t happen because there’s to many Wilder crazies on here . Ha

Right, my hope is just that these guys keep fighting each other since the dust on the unification at HW may not settle for a year or two and none of those guys have emerged as the rightful challenger when it does
