Just because you beat a guy you dont get his spot in the rankings.

You have to have a body of work and certain win or loses to be ranked at a certain division and you have to have those fighst at that division.


Cotto in his last 5 fights at WW is 4-1 losing to a top 5 WW and beating 2 other top 5 WWs and beating 2 tune ups.

Clottey beat Judah, lost to Cotto.

Mosley is 1-1 in WW fights since 2007, he lost clearly to Cotto and he dismantle Margarito.

if clottey beats ssm he will be #2 because his fight with cotto was not 2yrs ago like the ssm fight. so the closeness of his defeat to cotto is not gonna let him become #1. if that fight, clot. vs cotto happened over 1yr ago maybe then he would have been #1. anyways those 2, ssm or clottey will meet again vs cotto down the line for the lineal champ WW. you can bet on that
