I was super high on Stevenson in the Olympics and have been impressed in several of his pro fights but I’m not so sure he has the power to hang with the top guys at 130-135. Say he fought the Tank who fought LSC last year, how would Shakur deal with an opponent like that?

Does Shakur Stevenson have enough pop to keep the top guys off?

Been having some similar discussions with KTFO, but with this specific question, I think his height and frame probably allow him to get away with the lack of pop at 130, at least against most guys, but 135 has some heavy, heavy hitters that would walk through what Shakur throws. Could he become a champ at 135? I certainly think so, but I don't think that's a weight where people will say he could be the best guy at the weight, like 126 and 130. He's definitely going to need to add a lot of variety to his game moving forward to make up for the lack of power

I pretty much agree man, he definitely has the skills to outbox anybody at 126-130 but when he’s up against guys with more physical tools than him, it’s gonna be very difficult for him IMO. I always kind of felt Shakur would beat Valdez and that would be his first signature win but now I’m starting to think Valdez might be a bit too much for him.

My question is how does he handle it if someone starts really getting shots through on him.
"I tried to [get him out of there] a little bit, but I started getting hit with some solid shots. I ain’t really like it, but next time I’m going to work on moving my head a little bit more and step it up a little more.” - Shakur Stevenson

He generates his power with velocity like Mayweather. My main concern with him is when he meets such little adversity he becomes way to defensive. Reminds me of Lara. Boring but he’s a damn good boxer but who wants to see that?

Bigger Question is how in the HELL does these other guys beat him? Me personally and I've always said this that he will be the best out of all these guys...won't be the most exciting or entertaining or even the bigger draw but he will be THE BEST in the Ring Skill Wise.
So Yeah In the ring, ZERO concerns about his Power, he will Box Circles around all these guys while making them look silly, confused and will get them very frustrated with that style as they're spending most of the match swinging at Air and his Shadow
He did Drop Nakatalia so it is some "POP" that makes opponents think twice about just throwing punches in bunches against him. He will beat Herring easily as well as Valdez because as Bradley said perfectly last night, the kid can "Swim Without Getting Wet..."

I just want to see him make you PAY when you miss instead of running to safety. Shakur can put together beautiful Combos make no mistake about that...

Just need to bite down and do it more often especially like Last Night when you have that type of opponent in front of you
