But that statement is false....it would be like saying Manny would have more leverage if he didn't lose to Marquez....yet he came back to win the rematch and the rubber. Did P-Willy not redeem himself immediately against Quintana?
(a'la RJJ/ Griffin) If anything, it proved that he didn't prepare for that fight like he should have, and took Quintana lightly....a mistake fighters are allowed...but just make sure that you come back stronger.

Oh...and Floyd is the only one (fighter) who thinks being undefeated is "having negotiating power".
Boxinng scene, the home of under achievement. Everyone wants to be undefeated because it is more attr4active. If Floyd had lost to Hatton everyone would be throwing him under the bus. so to say it doesnt matter is rediculous. No logical person starts anything saying "man if I could just get this first loss under my belt". P.Will's loss was devistating because it forces him to fight the top losers instead of the top champions like he deserves. That one loss gives big mnoey names the excuse not to fight him even now.

False. He lost his 0, but that's it. Obviously that's nice to have, but not the be all end all. He came back more determined and is a title threat in 2 weight classes now. It'd be 3 if he could make 147, which I doubt at this point.

This guy got it. The only way the loss woulda hurt him is if he became damaged goods or if the loss gave other boxers a blueprint to beating him or exposed a weakness. The fact that he obliterated the only fighter to have beaten him in one round makes the loss seem more of an aberration more than anything else. Furthermore despite the loss he has had to fight in multiple weight classes just to make fights and still is having a hard time making fights. I don't seem to hear many fighters calling him out besides Clottey because they know that PWill is no walk in the park with his wingspan and workrate in the ring.
Hopkins mentioned him as a possible opponent in 2010 but I'll believe that when I see it.

True. I was there at Pechanga in Temecula, Ca Ringside. I was sitting next to Jack Mosley, The Pwill crew, Travor Ariza and Matt Kemp. It was pretty evident that Jack Mosley was pissed of PWills effort. Before the fight they where talking about a Pwill vs Mosley fight coming soon. After the 12th round bell everybody went there own way. Mosley vs Pwill before Mosley fought Margarito would have been huge for PWILL.

That lost set him back (promotional/hype wise). I know it's bull **** but thats is how the fans of this era view things. They think 1 loss and your damage good ect. We know Paul came back and KO'd Quintana but that loss is still their.

            Your thoughts?
the loss to quintana doesn't matter... pwill erased that loss by KTFO quintana in round 1.

nobody was gonna fight pwill regardless.

I think that anything he lost in the first fight, he snatched back with a convincing 1st round stoppage, avenging the loss to Quintana.

I think he has a hard time getting fights because of the matchup problems he causes for most fighters. Physically, his reach and punch output is something that's really tough to deal with.

I think that loss has given the big name fighters at 147 leadway to duck him.
