Ortiz Was a better opponent than ruiz / Miller. Much higher profile, so why didn't Eddie make that fight earlier and allow him proper preparation?
Ortiz was on course for a mandatory shot at AJ back in 2017 until he pissed hot and got himself removed from the rankings, suppose that was Hearn as well.
Team Ortiz have ****ed up 2 AJ fights.

He was offered more to fight Wilder than he was offered to fight Joshua.

It’s on you and if you think you’re that good and want to test yourself who better than me? Wilder and Fury are not available and I believe in my heart to be the best you must face the best”
Luis Ortiz.
He woulda made in the region of 15-20m dollars had he won the first fight then had a rematch.
It was a duck, boogeyman myth got busted.

AJ is also clearly on steroids. Which is a reason his fights are planned 6 - 12 months in advance

They have had plenty of opportunities to make that fight, and give Ortiz time for a decent training camp. But have instead consistently chosen people lower ranked than ortiz instead.

He woulda made close to 20m dollars over the course of 2 fights had he taken the AJ fight and won. obviously wasn’t that confident in his ability then was he.
He didn’t make that against Wilder.

I’m sure he did say he would step in for Miller.
Then he was offered more money to fight a rematch with Deontay Wilder than he was offered for the Joshua fight.
So he took the job that paid more (and allowed him to have a full camp), which is what every sane human would do.
In terms of your money comparison, you can’t use Ruiz’s payday from BOTH Joshua fights COMBINED as a comparison to what Ortiz made in one Wilder fight.
He was comparing one offer to one offer, without the benefit we have now of hindsight.
He didn’t know he would lose to Wilder again. He also didn’t know, as we still don’t know, if he would have beaten Joshua.
So, why would he blow off a couple million dollars to pick Joshua? I’m confused.

Instead his manager had a ***** fit about being lowballed, then once that was called nonsense performed a 180 so fast he shoulda been checked for whiplash and took the blame, it doesn’t pass the sniff test.
But just for arguments sake say I believe it then why pick AJ, well it’s painfully simple really, a victory over him and picking up 3 world titles would have been worth more down the line.
And if he’s the big bad boogeyman that AJ was apparently terrified from all these years then why was there even doubt in his mind, this should have been a foregone conclusion, beat AJ twice then walk away 20m richer and march into a unification fight.
turning it down was one of the worst ducks in recent memory, only because it was AJ & Hearn is there even a slither of doubt.
