I doubt it. Bernard would find a way to get Winky Wright in the ring if he found a way to beat Trinidad. If Winky beats Trinidad convincingly (dominating him and then stopping him late...just like Hopkins did.) Why would there be a rematch? Instead fans will be much more interested in seeing the two men who destroyed Tito Trinidad fight.

once a fighter is KO in my book, its hard to see him making it 12 rounds with the hardest puncher in that weight class

No One can stand in front of Tito and hope to win. Winky doesn't move all that much for him to beat Tito. I think Winky will last the distance but no way do I think he can beat Trinidad. It takes more than a jab plus Winky is too defensive minded. Bodyshots will bring Winky's guard down then it will be all over.

You may be right. I never seen Winky take a clean body shot from a heavy-fisted fighter. He can't stand in front of Tito if Tito finds a way to bring his guard down with a big punch to the body. Him standing and trading with Tito may just be his undoing, but Tito might fight the fight 'dumb' and only attack the head. With a fighter who puts his confidence in his punching power, like Tito Trinidad does, you can't expect that much strategy from him. Now of course you're going to say, look at the fight with Mayorga, but that's different, I don't think I need to mention how either..

I think Winky has a great shot. I do agree with your assesment of him as a defensive fighter, and his weaknesses. I think however; winky would catch Trini's punches and counter effectively. Very few people give Wright credit for being a good inside fighter. He can do both.

Winky is a great inside fighter but when he counters he will leave him self exposed as well. Trinidad is quick with the lefthook he can throw it and then loaded back within seconds. When Mosley pumped the lefthook he was able to land quite a few against Winky. Tito has always been a great bodypuncher it's just that his punches upstairs always overshadowed his bodypunching. Tito isn't discouraged easy either if he has to break his opponent down before finishing him he can do it.

Hey, that's how I played Fight Night 2004! And it worked for me!

Seriously though I would take the 2-1 bet against Winky. I favor Tito but not by that much. I could see Winky lasting the distance and possibly winning a decision. My gut tells me though that Tito will stop him late.
