How bad is Valuev?

I don't think he's horrible.
Newbie fans that only saw him against Holyfield would make that assumption but I've seen quite a few of his fights and sometimes he's much much better.
If he doesn't face Holy or Ruiz, he's fairly entertaining.

Valuev ain't no mother ****in Puerto Rican. Valuev is a bigfoot isn't he? They shaved him and taught him to speak.
And I have his other fights. The Barrett fight was only saved by the fact that his freakishness makes him a curiosity. You're strangely fascinated the first time around, then you wake up and fight night's over.

He used to be better a few years ago, back when he fought Barrett, Beck and Etienne, but he's slowed down since then.
He's definitely past his best - he may be aging prematurely, as giants sometimes do. The inactivity of the past year can't possibly have helped him either.
If Haye is any good at all, he should be able to defeat Valuev now.

Valuev has the following qualities:
- he is large,
- has good reach,
- a great chin,
- a passable jab
... and that's about it.
He is slow, moves like a drunken bear, and for his size he is rather featherfisted. He was not even able to soundly defeat a gramps Holyfield - many consider the fight a gift decision for Valuev.
As soon as he faces a quicker opponent, he does not look good. Chagaev and Holyfield showed how to defeat the bear - outdance him and go inside.
And now he holds a belt, despite being defeated by Chagaev two years ago, and Chagaev was destroyed by Klitschko. So, most consider the belt worthless.
Finally, he cherrypicks his opposition. Both Klitschkos challenged him more than once, and there were opportunities for a unification match. Many say Valuev ducked the Klitschkos.
So, yeah, Valuev is a bad boxer. He appears as polite and intelligent during interviews, though, and is rarely loudmouthed. Probably not an evil/bad person.
