Laughter broke out when Pacquiao said Cotto is big, strong and dangerous

Manny Pacquiao apparently has Miguel Cotto all figured out.

Asked by his army of admirers during a heartwarming occasion on Friday, Pacquiao elicited laughter and jeers when he told them that Cotto is someone not to be messed with.

“Cotto is big, strong and dangerous,” said Pacquiao, who battles the Puerto Rican on November 14.

    Then laughter broke out.

“That’s what you said when we asked you about Ricky Hatton,” said someone from the crowd inside the packed room of the Wild Card Gym in Parañaque.

“Did you enjoy that fight with Hatton?” asked Pacquiao, who flattened Hatton in less than two rounds.

“We were just warming our seats,” said former business manager Rod Nazario, who was on hand to welcome Pacquiao alongside longtime partners Moy Lainez, Lito Mondejar, and Gerry Garcia as part of the ninth anniversary of the weekly boxing show In This Corner.

Nazario also took the opportunity to give Pacquiao some advice concerning Cotto, who Nazario believes is tailor-made for the Filipino’s lethal left hand.

“Cotto tends to lower his right hand when he rushes in and Manny will surely catch him with the left,” said Nazario, who handled Pacquiao from 1995 until 2005.

Pacquiao spent 45 minutes seated beside the ailing Nazario, who even offered his place in Baguio as site of the initial phase of Pacquiao’s training.

Pacquiao said he will consider it, saying he is planning to initiate an eight-week camp after he arrives in the Philippines following a four-city press tour from September 10 to 14.

Are this Pacquiao fans ******? Pacquiao is beliving his own hype and that will be the end of Pacquiao. Overconfidence will be their downfall nov 14.

Only actions will dictate the outcome. Not that I’m not putting any stock to what’s been said, it’s just the back and forth cheering and jeering is only contributing for a cycle of redundancy from fanatical fans from both sides. Let’s just wait till Nov 14th and then talk.

    Peace.

All of his friends and followers can't get in the ring with him. November 14th he'll be staring at man 10 pounds bigger than him and looking to knock him unconcious. WAR COTTTO!

        Who's being overconfident???

Pacquiao sure doesnt sound like he's taking Cotto lightly. Just the guys he was in the room with laughed because Pacquiao is always so serious.

He said the same things about Cotto that he said about Hatton and Delahoya and Pacquiao made those fights look easy.

That's the only reason those people laughed.

90% of Pac's fans aren't really boxing fans.

He's like Hatton, 30,000+ fans fly 5000 miles to have a good time and watch Hatton. The atmosphere is unrivaled and it's a great way to spend your hard earned cash twice a year.

Sounds like some fairytale bull**** where the people of a kingdom get behind one guy, then that guy is slain and they all disperse in fear.

By the way, I got Pac beating Cotto.

Pacquiao is one of the most humble Boxers out there. This interview seems like the interviewers and the rest of Team Pacquiao were the ones' that were overconfident. I'm sure that Pacquiao knows he has a tough fight ahead of him.

You must have a reading comprehension problem. Read it again and tell me where Pacquiao was showing over-confidence, or was e was believing his own hype...
