I agree with what you said on how it all depends on whether or not Cotto will be able to time Pac.

I don't think Cotto will be able to. He will probably walk Pac into a favorable spot and throw hard 3-4 punch combinations in which a couple punches might get through, but Cotto will probably have to rely on volume combinations to make solid contact.
They said the same thing with Mosley. Everyone debated whether or not Cotto could deal with his speed and constant pressure, but it was Cotto who was the Boxer and timed Mosley to the point where he was frustrated.

Pacquiao is fast, but he's not un-hittable by any means. Patience is going to play a key role. Cotto has never been one to waste punches at all.

cotto can load up on his punches if he can time pac coming in or if he traps pac on the ropes. if cotto is chasing or moving away from pac, cotto's punches will not be very powerful especially w/ pac's side to side movement.

Great post! That is one thing everyone is forgetting. Cotto has great accuracy with his punches. I really don't see him missing a lot....especially when Pac comes in to throw his.

True...if he can time Mosely, he can time Pac.

Cotto is also good at cutting off the ring. If he can trap Manny, he puts himself in a great position to unload. Gonna be an awesome fight. Manny the monster against Cotto the beast. This fight has people going crazy already.

Well some of them were pretty much right on how accurate and fast Cotto's punches were...........what they didn't predict is that Manny walked through most of it like a tank.

It's funny how David Diaz trained to cope up to Pacquiao's power and forgot his speed.....while Cotto camp trained for Pacquiao's speed and forgot his Power.
