he obvioulsy can sell tickets - indirectly. 30000 hatton fans wouldn't have flow out to vegas to watch him fight malignagi, likewise with the manny fight. indirectly floyd can sell tickets, people go to watch their fighter fight floyd.

Mayweather fights only sell well when he has a dance partner with some name recognition, so yeah Hattons right.

I think it goes the same for all them guys like Floyd/Hatton/Pac
because if they could sell with any other ordinary fighter then
they wouldn't be looking for other big name opponents MEANING
Mosley would fight Clottey, Pacquiao would fight Valero and Oscar
would not have fought Floyd or Pac. When each fighter has fought
someone that wasn't as famous then the turnout wasn't that big.
Each fighter Boxing superstar need one another to sell big fights.

following. The only other fighter who can do that is Miguel Cotto
at Madison Square Garden on the Eve of The Puerto Rican Day
parade. Big name fighters need other big name fighters to sell
tickets.

Ricky is correct, while maywetaher may be one of the most talented boxers in the buisisness he has never and will never be a fan favorite. I mean didn't we all see his plee on this site so that fans would back him up on his upcoming fight. If mayweather would shut up once in a while instead of running his dirty little mouth maybe then people would back him up.
