Last November, we saw Roy Jones Jr. take the worst beating of his entire career when Joe Calzaghe dominated him for a better part of their twelve rounds at New York's Madison Square Garden. Minus a knockdown in the first round, Jones was outfought by a younger, quicker, slicker and more active opponent. Jones blames an inexperienced corner for the loss. He says there was one thing missing that would have helped beat Calzaghe - and that one thing was the corner knowledge of Roy Jones Sr. [details]

Calzaghe was out of his prime by years and old as **** too!!!!!!
A prime Calzaghe would of been the same problem for a prime RJJ. And Calzaghe in his prime had a lot of power too!!!
Calzaghe is simply all wrong for Roy!!!!!!!!

Roy got one of the worst beatings in his career and Roy thinks his dad would make a difference beating Calzaghe next time? If Roy can beat Dawson maybe he can get Calzaghe's attention.
There is some cases where old fighters who stay around too long ruin potential fights (Calzaghe/Pavlik). Roy did not deserve a shot against Calzaghe.

i would see a prime RJJ beating calzaghe or at least putting up a lot better fight than what he did that night...he had nothin left as far as power went...he kept tryin to land that one big shot to stop calzaghe but he wasnt phasing him at all...calzaghe is retired and everyone should just leave it at that (cough cough Carl Froch)
