    2009 World Amateur Boxing Championships

The 2009 International Boxing Association (AIBA) World Boxing Championships will be held at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy from August 29 to September 13.

Here is the AIBA's website with the details:

I'm hoping it will be streamed online, like the Olympics were last year.

Hopefully Lomachenko will turn pro after this tournament.

I can see Lomachenko being like Tszyu was when he turned pro - practically the finished article already. Great amatuer with an extremely professional style. I watched his (Olympic) final against that French lad this year and he just took him completely apart in less than 2 minutes in an unbelievable performance. He didn't even really punch for the first minute from what I remember, just real slick movement to frustrate his opponent. As soon as he started opening up he was like 14-0 up and the ref had seen enough.

Not the same type of fight but reminded me of the infamous Tszyu schooling of Forest in the amatuers. Incredible stuff.

Raushee Warren isn't going because he lost at the nationals.
