One of the greatest writers in boxing history died yesterday at the age of 95. As well as being Sports Illustrated's chief boxing correspondent and a Boxing Hall of Fame inductee he also wrote the novel The Harder They Fall and the screenplay for Oscar winning movie about an ex boxer, On the Waterfront.
He is survived by fourth wife Betsy and five children and died at home in Westhampton, New York.
