As much as i want to say thats complete BullChit by the WBO and they are money hungry, I have to come back and say it serves Cotto right for being Money Hungry too. I was with Cotto but Cotto is the one who agreed to fighting the unranked PacMan(Ranked by the Corrupt WBO) at some Bullchit catchweight just to Make Huge Money. So why Cant the WBO make some money too and if PacMan wins then every fight is a 150k Tax. Maybe this will make all the Champions rethink selling out to the Roach and PacMan for the Big Dollars at an Unsafe weight and fight where they are comfortable. Cotto I was with you but the more i thought about it, The more i couldnt see it your way. Maybe its because i hated Roach(hope he dies of Herpes) that i was agreeing with you but it hit me that if you lose everyone, including myself, will be using the WeightDraining excuse like Cottos our brother. Since i dont like Cotto, it must be that i Really hate Roach. Its time that Champions starting acting like Champions again and quit bending over for every demand the challenger and his gay herpedfilled trainer make. And if Cotto relinquishes the title then that will also be a ***** move because he wants to keep his belt even if he loses. Hell i still say Pavlik should no longer be Champion after what BHop did to him, even if in another weight class. Cotto is afraid with Pacman. Because if he lose, still, he has the belt. But, if he's confident enough why care for 1,000$ to 150,000$ if you will earn 1000x more with this bout.

Gamble you belt Cotto, this makes the fight more interesting.

He has to pay because he is WBO champion and fighting. If he is going to fight, but not put his title at stake, the WBO is going to tax him for doing so.
Cotto should just shup the **** up and put the title on the line.

I don't think some of you understand Cotto's position on this matter. It is not about the sanctioning fee or the belt itself. It is a control issue. Cotto took a lot less money and agreed to fight at 145. He has given in to everything Pacquaio had demanded to get the fight. Now, Pacquaio is asking for more, trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip. Cotto's view is he has given up enough already. he is not going to put the title on the line unless Pacquaio is willing to make a concession -- two pounds.

If Pac wants the shot at the title, all he has to do is agree to fight at 147. Simple! Easy! And, by the way, ask yourselves this question: What will the WBO do if Cotto refuses to pay the "tax" aka sanctioning fee they are trying to impose? Sue him? Whip him? or, gulp, strip him of the belt?

According to WBO president Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel, WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto will still have pay a sanctioning fee to the WBO, even if the title is not on the line against Manny Pacquiao on November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Cotto, as champion, has to pay the WBO a minimum of $1,000 and a max of $150,000.

why are people and boxers so caught up with the alphabet titles?? They care nothing for the fighter, why the hell after being an organization for over 50+ years, do you not provide benefits for your ranked fighters? champion's etc, but are always worrying about sanctioning fees and no-one raises an eyebrow? That is why the wbo is trying to sanction this fight - to collect free money (feel like mr. krabs saying that"spongebob") NFL / AFC / NFC / NBA / MLB / all have benefits . Boxing is so corrupt it makes no sense - Cotto is baiting them, his belt is 147 WW not jr WW - 140.
