Maidana doesn't have an excellent chin himself, and if he fights as open as he fought Ortiz, Khan has more than enough power to put Maidana down. Plus, for the first 5-6 rounds I doubt Khan will trade with Maidana to get hit with a clean shot. Khan will use his jab, and look to counter the wide looping shots of Maidana. As always if Khan eats something big, he will probably lose the fight, but I think he has enough to beat Maidana early. Khan has more speed than Ortiz, a jab, a better defence, and a better boxing brain. I think he has the potential to stop Maidana early, as Maidana does Khan.

If they fought next, I would favour Maidana to land something big and stop Khan. But if Khan beats Salita, then Hatton, and shows further defensive improvement without getting tagged, I would pick Khan to win by mid-round stoppage. Khan would be too fast, too accurate, and too slippery for the one dimentional slugger Maidana.
Good points all, Timba. I'd give ya karma for that, but I cannot.

i already say it and i will say it again, khan is too young for hatton. maybe in the next two years he is ready to fight hatton. khan has many options now that he has a title. there is no need to fight hatton at this point. freddie is annoying hatton when he said khan can fight hatton.

Careful Khan. Hatton is a heavy hitter.

The reason he probably said that is because the promoters are considering it as hatton has not declared publicly that he has or has not retired and all Khan did was respond to a question.

For Khan it's difficult. The man is between continents. He has a great trainer in Roach and knows that and probably through working with him knows Manny. He could not root hard for either and had to hedge his position, and a 'no comment' would sound too wimpy and no one would accept that so what's he gonna say? Also, he's 22. As a young adult he's more mature than a lot of people I see at my age and older.
many people here cant comprehend. i dont know why people would jump on khan without even thinking. the guy didnt say anything wrong thus ricky should be thankful that khan is willing to put his new belt on the line ifever ricky asks for it

This is the same as calling him out, he can't just say he wants to fight Hatton because it will anger the Hatton fans. The fans he wants to support him £££ when Hatton retires.

i dont think it is bro. its like this, if ricky hatton wants it, he can have a shot. if he doesnt, then they wont fight.

Yep, so basically the same as calling him out. If Hatton continues boxing and doesn't fight Khan it will look like he ducked him.
