He got a lot of test to take.

I'm very proud of Eddie for the performance against Dimitrenko.

I don't think he fairs too well against Wlad, but I'll be supporting him regardless and I hope he can pull the upset.

I hope Wladimir will choose to fight Chambers this fall, since Povetkin wants his warm-up. Let Povetkin wait until 2010 since he's delayed it twice now...

Eddie vs. Wladimir would be the more interesting fight.

I agree. Chambers impressed me massively with his win over Dimitrenko. He displayed a good defense, ring smarts, very impressive (prime Tyson esque at times) head movement, patience, a level head when he had Dimitrenko hurt and great hand speed.

Wlad is a different beast but if Chambers can land a few good shots Wlad will get sloppy as Dimitrenko did. We have seen it in the past and we could perhaps see it again.

I don't like Eddie's chances, but really ; it depends on which version of Wlad shows up.

I'm hoping he shows up a bit more cautious than usual, as that will give Eddie opportunities to land the counter right over Wlad's jab often.

Still, he needs to be smart in there, as he always is.

Wlad's right hand is a fucking bomb.

He needs to avoid that thing at all costs, land what counters he can, and try to offset Wlad's rhythm if he's going to have any chance of pulling that upset.

Seeing the way Wlad paws with the jab against southpaws, that would probably be Eddie's best chance. Otherwise, blocking the overwhelming majority of Wlad's jabs, which he's capable of doing, getting the timing of them down and countering, which he's quick enough to do, and being more aggressive when/if he was able to catch Wlad with something good, would give him more of a chance than most people are giving him.

                Agreed.

It's a tough task, but after seeing him really dig deep and pull out that great performance on the 4th ; I like his chances much better than I have before.

His defense is tight enough to not eat Wlad's jab all night long like most of wlad's opponets, and his head movement will help him greatly in avoiding the right hand.

If he can either counter over Wlad's jab with his right hand, or time his jab with his blocking and then counter effectively ; I think he can make a damn good showing of himself.

But it's really hard to say when you look at how dominant Wlad has been lately. Couple that with the size and power disadvantage, and I can clearly see why "Fast" Eddie is being pegged to get knocked out in this one.

But I'm pulling for him anyway.

Win, lose, or draw ; I'm proud of the fact that he dug deep and rebounded from that Povetkin loss and is in this position to begin with.

He thoroughly outboxed Povetkin over the first 4 rounds or so, then it appeared his conditioning started to fail him and he stayed in the shell for most of the rest of the fight. Instead of taking his marbles and going home, he takes on a still dangerous challenge in Peter and then comes in in phenomenal shape to pretty much shut out Dimitrenko. Now he's right back in position for a title shot. I wish him the best. If he stays in shape and stays focused, he'll be a HW title holder sooner or later. Vitali would be the more winnable fight for him at this stage, but Wlad is not out of the question.

I'm glad Chambers and his team decided to shave the extra pounds off. I've been saying forever that heavyweights today have been afraid to come in weighing between 200-210, but they shouldn't be. Hopefully the Chambers win will send a message to the rest of the jiggly heavyweights.
