Could it not have been that Tarvers style was easy to figure out by Hopkins.
I'm not saying Hopkins still doesn't win. What I'm saying is that Tarver was weight-drained and he made it easier for Hopkins.

This coming from a Hopkins fan who was born and raised in Philly and has posted before that if you want to see Hopkins at his best, start from Tito and work your way back because to many people seem to forget he had a career before the Tito fight.

Although that said, one of his best wins if not his best win came against Pavlik because Hopkins was an Old Man past his prime beating the younger undefeated fighter...and took Pav to school and ripped his heart out and pissed on his critics.

well, tarver shouldn't have signed the contract if he didn't think he could make 175 safely.

that said, tarver is a very inconsistent fight who usually always losses the first fight but comes back better in the rematch.

Yeah he looks "220" here. Where did it say he weighed 220, Tarver himself? Tarver also said he was perfectly fine. Tarver is full of **** and he's made 175 perfectly fine since. He's always gone to 190 or so when making 175. That's normal for him.

i personally doubt it. It's not as if we was struggling and eventually got Knocked down due to being unhealthy.

He just got plain schooled. End of story.
          Co-sign.

That's why he had a personal trainer, and said he never looked better in his life in training, and was so confident that he bet Hopkins FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS that he would knock him out cold by the fifth round. A weight drained person must be that confident right?

tarver signing the contract has nothing to do with him being weight drained

just like cotto signing to fight pac for millions of dollars doesnt mean hes going to be at his best

They all say that...especially when your job is on the line and you are trying to sell a fight.

How did Ali's words of confidence work going in against Holmes?

ofcourse he was weight drained, the whole "poisoned" thing was a cover up to get across his feeling because he didn't want to look like a prick for saying jones had a **** excuse.

Ali had Parkinson's by that point and was shot. How the hell does that compare to tarver who was coming off some of the biggest wins of his career.

                    Apples and Oranges

Tarver was a big favourite against Hopkins anyway.

Did anyone really even give Ali a chance against Holmes, especially at that stage?

Would you honestly bet someone 400 thousand if you knew you were at a disadvantage, and might lose. Especially if that bets isn't for you winning the fight, but rather you making your opponent into your ***** and KOing them by the 5th, which shows that you think you will win with ease
