so why is pacman fighting cotto at 144 is a BS
and marquez fighting at 144 ok

If marquez is a "true man" he called floyd.. he should fight him at 147..

i think guys here are giving Marquez too much credit for fighting floyd at catchweight 144..

Marquez and Mosley are the same.. They are desperate for a Big fight..
they'd weigh up or weight drain themselves for a big paycheck..

Gee, maybe because they don't want the fight to look like a gross mismatch. You have a guy in his mid 30's who has only been at 135 twice. And you expect people to pay top dollar to see him fight an undefeated welterweight in his prime at 147? Tickets weren't selling all that hot even for the catchweight. You could sell Floyd-Pacquaio at 147, but not Floyd-JMM.

excuses... so it's ok for marquez to have catchweight at 144
        and not pacquiao

eventhough pacman and marquez have the same natural weight..

The fact that Pacquiao has blown out a former 147 lb and 140 lb champions his his last two fights makes all the difference. He is proven at the weight. JMM isn't even proven at 140 yet. "Natural weight" is much more of a percepcion than a reality. Marquez shouldn't be fighting someone like Mayweather in his first fight at two weight classes higher.

It also makes the difference that Floyd walks around at 150lbs... making 144lbs is easy work.

With Cotto, who blows up to 160lbs+, seriously dehydrates to make 147lbs... any more, and it will only make him less of a fighter..
