What i learned from cotto vs clottey

Cotto is a great fighter and so is clottey but cotto didnt look the same as he usually does im hoping its cause the cut the trainer or just the style of clottey but he just didnt look like the usual cotto. I still scored the fight for him 114 113 in a crazy fight i think he woulda won more convincingly without the headbutt but it was close as ****. Anyways what i learned is that hes not no felix trinidad in my opinion tito woulda broken that guard way easier like he did to thiam. Also from what i saw i think floyd would have a field day with cotto again this is just from what i saw in this fight maybe cut trainer style affected him im hoping its just that but i see floyd beating him but i would still bet points on cotto.

Cotto looked just fine to me. He fought the same way he always does, but he really got outboxed and beat up, his last 10 second flurries seemed to pursuade one of the judges, who if I may add was grossly inexperienced for such a big fight.

I disagree with the tito part. he couldnt break winky's guard and clottey's is just as good. tito was a one dimensional and wouldve got out boxed by clottey similar to winky vs tito only clottey is a better puncher than winky. tito was beat all night by winkys jab. and as for floyd. floyd can definitely out box cotto but it will be a different fight. cotto would be the aggresive fighter putting on the pressure which cotto is better in those circumstances. to beat cotto you have to put constant pressure on him making him fight backwards which floyd wont do.

nope, it was the same old cotto. he didn't look like he usually does because he wasn't fighting bums like jennings.

cotto did the same stuff he did against margo. if clottey was more determined he might've gotten the KO.

cotto definitely needs a REAL trainer to tighten up the defense and formulate a better gameplan. if cotto keeps on like this he will keep on getting beat up every fight against good boxers.

the head butt didn't help, and it woulda been close even without the headbutt. the fact that cotto was cut and clottey didn't take advantage of it and stop cotto means clottey isn't that good.

its a combination a lot of stuff, but cotto isn't that good. don't get me wrong, he's an elite WW, but he very beatable.

Cotto's got skills and heart, but I can't respect that kind of ****. Watch all three fouls in the replay. They're purposeful fouls.

actually i dont think clottey is as good as winky winky wouldnt have gotten hit that many times also tito wasnt in his prime when he fought winky even though i still think he woulda lost in his prime vs winky but it woulda been a whole different fight i think winky is much better defensively than clottey and thiam who had a hi guard was able to get his guard broke by uppercuts by tito followed by some hooks.

the fouls i cant say nothing cause clottey was just as dirty in the 4th i believe the ref told clottey to not use the elbow like he did also he threw a low blow to cotto in the 6th and lampley mentioned it plus the headbutt in the third and he kept floppin the low blow by cotto wasnt even t\hat low yet clottey made it seem like it was lower clottey was and still is a dirty fighter he always uses his head not a coincidence that it happened today
