yeah, jmm/pbf is an eliminator for a fight w/ pac. that said, floyd better fight pac for sure and after he gets the pac fight, he better fight mosley or cotto.
Yes i am. he could have fought some of those guys yes. However, the ultimate goal is Pacquiao, and that will not be a welterweight fight. It will be at a catchweight(even though Pac had a fight at welter) if they do fight and please don't discredit that fight because that's the fight that people want to see and Mosley and Cotto and Margarito who are ALL bigger welterweights than Floyd are calling for Pacquiao as well. What better way to set up a fight with Pacquiao than to beat JMM easier than Pacquiao did to spark up the debate about who will win. I mean Pacquiao's fans that say he'll win because he beat Oscar and Hatton easier, so if Floyd beats JMM easier the debate will grow even bigger and make it a bigger fight, as well as get Floyd accustomed to the lighter weight where he and Pacquiao will meet. This fight is a fight to hopefully set up that matchup. Thats it. Plain and simple.
Floyd, the self proclaimed cash cow,
doesn't need a fight to set up another.
Cash cows make money off of their name alone.
But lets get back to what we were originally discussing,
the basketball and hockey analogies are horrible and there isn't any way you can say otherwise.
Some good points.... i do agree with some of the things stated in the article tho....But i mean, just because he didnt get a shot back then....how can you prove your the best without fighting the best....
And yes hes taking on the P4P #2...but that person is also moving up 2 weight divisions...ye floyds had a layoff but still...thats alot...
You compare pacquiao and mosley to this match, but the thing is pac has faught at 140 and looked great, 147 looked good (dunno how good cos he didnt exactly hav an opponent in oscar) where as JMM has not faught above 135.... at least we have seen how good pac can be at them weights...
But if what the Greg Rowe says is true "Regardless of how you feel as a fight fan about these many subjects one thing is for certain, the sports best fighter is back and he wants to fight Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley in his next three fights"
If mayweather does the pac and mosley after JMM (if he wins which im sure he will)....i will give him respect...wouldnt mind a cotto fight in there either....then he will prove he is the greatest at that weight...until then i think its all talk
yeah, jmm, pac, then mosley, then cotto. I think floyd could retire after that and no one should question him anymore about his competition.

I completely agree. I am just defending the JMM fight for what it is. A setup for the Pac fight
