You're just going by gate numbers and not taking into consideration how many viewers Cotto brings in on free TV. I don't know what his numbers were against Malinaggi and Jennings but the only major PPV he headlined was against Mosley and his fight against Zab Judah did a lot less than Floyd's fight with Zab. You don't know how many Cotto supporters ordered his fight with Mosley. And also the reason why Shane should be in the driver's seat is the fact that he destroyed the guy who had Cotto's number, with or without plaster. There isn't anyway to prove Margarito was loaded against Cotto. The WBO title is a lot less regarded than the WBA. Trust me.

What about Cotto vs Margarito? That fight was on ppv unlike Mosley vs Margarito (was on free HBO!) and Cotto vs Margarito was one of the most hyped fights in while. You need to get tru your head that Mosley is just not a draw. That is why Cotto got more money when they faced each other.

But do you think it helps Cotto's cause to have all those viewers see Cotto beaten into submission like that? To me, that shouldn't give you any kind of leverage. Now I do think Margarito probably did load his gloves for that fight, but there's no way to prove it.

The fight was exciting and that Margarito win is tainted in eyes of a lot of people (including me). I dont know what other people think or feel but in my opinion that fight did not hurt Cotto's box office attraction because it lived up to the hype and many consider it a no contest.
