Win or lose, I got mad respect for my man Manny. He's fighting bigger fighters and who knows what might happen if this fight does happen. Mosley is past his prime and Pacquiao is still pretty fast. I never thought I would ever read an article mentioning that there might be a possible fight between the 2.

like i said before....keeping Manny in between two tough weight classes and forcing lightweights like guzman/ valero/ diaz and welters like cotto/ mosley to move up in weight or drop in weight is ridiculous.

thats why i can't wait for Pac vs JMM III
I agree, can't wait for that fight either. But yeah man, I am tired of hearing about all these catchweights. I don't think any of the welters should have to boil down in weight to meet Manny and give him an advantage, after all these guys are welter weights for a reason. They should all hold out and refuse to meet these catchweights putting the pressure on Manny. Manny needs these guys as much as they need him for a big fight, so if he wants to fight a welter he has got to fight them at the welter weight limit IMO. He has gone there against DLH so why can't he do it again? Catchweights are for old men who can no longer reach a certain weight, not prime fighters.

I agree in part with this, but look at how many people are in line for Manny Pacquiao. Everybody is trying to get the Speedpass for this ride so what do you expect. Are they all going to coalition and blackball Manny and refuse to meet him at whatever weight?

I'm don't care for catchweights, especially with not being able to put a belt on the line. But lets be real, Pac is going to have a hard enough time with these big WWs even if they shed a few pounds, and he has NO business being in the ring meeting at 147. Freddy is a brilliant guy and knew he could pull that stunt off against DLH, and if Manny is starting to yap about Mosley I have a feeling Roach thinks he has a chance.

Nobody is forcing any of these guys to come to a catchweight, they can move on and fight whoever else. With such a high demand Manny has a lot of leveraging room. Anyway, this best of LWs facing best of WWs at agreeable weights is going to make for some blockbuster megafights and will continue boxing's ascention into the sports mainstream.

On a sidenote, I wish PW would get some WW action...much as I love the WWs they need to man the **** up

at least he's giving stipulations on how a fight CAN BE MADE...not giving a laundry list of contradicting excuses on why it SHOULDNT BE MADE...like floyd does....feel free to STFU now

60-40 split and Mosley moving down to 143 or 144. Seems fair. Props to Manny for constantly facing the big names and competition.

I think at this point Manny can handle Mosley. Straight up Mosley is not the killer he once used to be...didn't you guys see the Mayorga fight??? Mayorga was straight winning that fight until Mosley caught him at the last round...if it wasn't for that hail mary punch Mosley would have lost. I believe Manny will be too quick and skilled and handle Shane in a UD or SD. I don't think these guys will knock the other out but Manny to me will outwork Shane cause remember Shane used to be effective when he threw a lot of combination punches...he doesn't do that anymore...he just looks for one punch knockouts these days and that overhand right won't connect with Manny that much. Though I will state that Shane has some advantages over Manny and that is the reach difference...but again this is an aging Shane a shell of what he once used to be. I thought the old shane would beat Cotto as well but this Shane can't keep up with the young guns of today. So I'd rather see Cotto vs Manny than Shane vs Manny but hey gotta love the fact that this #1 p4p guy is willing to put it on the line than the other knucklehead that gives excuses about some one not bringing in the money or someone not calling him out...I just don't respect that other guy like I do Manny.

Mayorga wan't winning that fight. He won several rounds, but that's it. Shane did look sluggish though. He claimed he was wearing the wrong kind of shoes and he got foot blisters.

I think you need to rewatch that fight and score the rounds...Mayorga had a comfortable lead imo. Don't listen to the knuckleheads calling the fight cause them guys tend to be so biased that it's not funny. Seriously just check it out and give honest opinion. I think Shane had good overhand rights from time to time but the brunt of the work went with Mayorga who to me was way more active and connecting shots at will as well which is why I gave him the rounds.
