The media philosophy is to create images that cultivate expectations, this mental images will weak the process of resoning and then you beleive in images and not reality. take for example manny paquiao. right now everybody beleive he is the best fighter, wrong he is not. he beat an old oscar de la hoya, which by the way was more like a mummy that a boxer, but Oscar name was create it, not the boxer, as a boxer he was good but people equates the name with boxer, Manny defeat the name, and because of that now poeple beleive manny is the greatest, the hatton fight was a lucky punch that all. the only fight that will prove manny abilities was JMM, and manny LOST BOTH, they gave the victory to manny but manny lost.that leave manny as a glass boxer. now, when manny fight , floyd, cotto , Mosley or even marquez again, you will see him on the canvas. and the creation of the media will be broken.

First of Pacman was the underdog vs Oscar.. and Manny made Oscar look like a mummy cause of Pacman speed..

JMM didnt win ... Infact he lost once and has a draw... Get over it.
Personally I cant wait for Pac to fight, JMM, Cotto, or Floyd so i see all the post about how they were shot or weight drained after Pac floor them.Comment

I understand your point Anto. But I dont agree with the Marquez comments.
While I scored the 2nd fight for Marquez by a point or 2, Pacquiao gave great account of himself in both fights. He maintained his fighting image in those fights, his heart, which we've seen against Morales and many fights before that.
If creating an idol was based off beating De la Hoya and Hatton names, then everyone would hail Mayweather as the King.
Pacquiao's image has been created pre-dominantly by his actions OUTSIDE the ring, and then his performances INSIDE, which cannot be denied...win, lose or draw.Comment

Pacquiao created himself, climbing through the ranks at a tender age when he didn't have proper training, no proper nutrition, no coach like Freddie and didn't have the luxury that most fighters, including Mayweather enjoy.
Pacquiao mesmerized the media and the world with his increasing achievement with each fight, and whatever the media expected, Manny exceeded.
It isn't Manny's fault he gives us something new everytime he fights.
You can go to hell with all your love for clinical, textbook boxers, but I'd take someone like Manny 24/7 for the excitement and value-for-money.
And by the way, just in case you forgot, TS, being P4P #1 is just icing in his career.Comment
