    Yup. Joe Has said that.

BRUCE did not compete. That was not his thing. His thing was thinking and teaching and learning. That's fine.

But it's annoying that there's this insanely massive cult built up around the guy that disrespects REAL FIGHTERS that put it on the line.

**** I mean Masahiko Kimura would have destroyed Lee, let alone Helio or Rolles Gracie.

      Greece (Pankration)
      Indian subcontinent (Pelwahni mixed wrestling).

But you are right, it is ******ed to say MMA or NHB came from Bruce lee.
i'm talking about the modern mma.

the ufc , pride , etc. clearest lineage is to the vale tudo events they had in brazil.

unless you want to count the catch wrestling events they use to have in japan.

obviously the fighting style dominant in mma now is from all over the place. the brazilians got their jiu-jitsu from japanese judo/jujitsu and some say the japanese got it from the indians.

In that case you are correct.

Modern MMA comes from brazil (nhb/vale tudo) and japan (pro wrestling/judo/catch as can)

Your last statement is also correct.

I'm pretty impressed by your actual knowledge of martial arts history. Kudos on actually researching stuff and not just buying into myths and legends.

doing fingertip pushups are amazing, no doubt. takes an unbelievable amount of strength to do it.

but Paul Lynch was able to do 124 one finger pushups in 1992. makes a freak of nature when it comes to strength...doesnt make him an unstoppable fighter.

So martial arts films had been around long before Bruce Lee. But if you watch any of them from the 50s n 60s you'll notice they're all about fluid movements...but fighters would parry each other endlessly for about 10-20 mins. Impossible and impractical in real life.

YUP. This argument is really ******. So the guy is incredibly fit so he can fight?

Give me a break. I can show you at least 20 youtube videos off the top of my head with random people doing freakishly athletic ****. So what?
