I agree that he was the greatest I believe he was a master martial artist. My initial response A) was not directed specifically to you, but more towards those who seemed to believe that like boxing you aren't great unless you have beaten great fighter...ok..whatever, good point I suppose I still believe based on the books I've read\martial arts studies that I've practiced, and the documentaries I've seen that he could hold his own with pretty much anyone today (we would almost have to assume though that BL would be at a much more advanced stage in his philosophies and practices so he might have more under his belt in this day and age.) B) the reference to Jet Li was again aimed at people who were posting uninformed\ignorant replies just for the sake of arguing, or maybe because they don't respect Martial Arts, and for no other reason then to spark more ignorant replies. At any rate, didn't see a reason to get all uptight and defensive about the post.
Or Bruce Lee? I mean he didn't have any fights. But we can keep pretending he did and therefore he could hold his own with anyone. What if he had a china chin?

Can I just ask, is the thread saying that Bruce Lee could beat any boxer regardless of weight in a boxing match?
Or is it a street fight?
Bruce Lee never had a competetive martial arts fight, right? So to say he could have beaten the best of his era is conjecture I assume?
You know that fighters can also punch very fast as well as hard?
You know that it is quicker to punch someone above the waist than to kick them? In real life I mean not in a film with frames cut out of it to make the actor appear faster.
Bruce Lee was what 9 stone odd? A lightweight, but some believe he would beat a heavyweight weighing 100lbs more than him?
Don't get me wrong I liked Bruce Lee, I like Robert De Niro too but I didn't buy into the myth that he would have been competetive against current MW's while he was making Raging Bull.
There is reality, there is urban myth then there is make believe.
