Did the Mexican Era end with Barrera or Margarito?

The great Mexican fighters of this era are generally on the way out I think it's safe to say right? Morales, Barrera, Marquez(acouple fights left) and now Margarito sort of screwed himself with the plaster. Is it safe to say, Mexican boxing is leveled out right now until a new star comes along? Maybe Alfredo Angulo, or I hate to say his name, JCC Jr., Victor Ortiz? But when will we see Mexican fighters that had that fire and fury that Morales and Barrea brought?

Good question: IMO, I think they've been dead.

I think once the Mexican public begged Julio Cesar Chavez to UN-retire & fight a Mexican killer called Manny Pacquiao, they were dead. Not saying they won't come back. I just don't see who they have that can beat the Pan Man.

Marquez is the lightweight king, and just totally terrorized that division and has been on a knockout spree. The Mexican era lives on with him.

Mexico still has Marquez, Vazquez, and Marquez.

And a bunch of up and coming prospects.

I don't think we'll ever see the "Mexican Era" end in boxing.

Mexicans have a rich history in this sport, and have earned their reputation through hard work and sacrifice.

I dare to say that Mexico will never stop producing great talents.
