My take is that during the build-up to the fight Ricky had emphasized the strength and size advantage he would enjoy to such an extent that he simply dropped his new finesse-boxer approach right from the opening bell. After Floyd Sr. admonished him in the corner for the disastrous first 3 minutes, Ricky fared somewhat better in the second but he was still getting tagged consistently because he had zero head movement, kept his hands too low and Manny's timing was a thing of beauty when he countered. Sorta reminded me of Donaire-Darchinyan.

In summary, round 1 was Ricky choosing to fight in a way that made it easy for Manny to implement Roach's game plan. Round 2 was just Manny settling down and finishing the show.

That was an unreal showing by the Pacman. I had him winning the fight but in about round 8! That was a humiliation for Hatton.

I thought Hatton said he was going to be the bigger man? Pacman pushed him around like he was some amateur. It just goes to show, you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Hatton's been fighting the same lousy brawling style forever, he got expsoed big time. Terrific showing by the Pacman.

Pacman, definitly is the current p4p #1....until December when he will face Mayweather Jr.

It will be the fight of the ages.

          Manny gets my full respect

I know I doubted the kid in the past but DAMN!! He kicked Hatton's ass.
To all the guys on Boxingscene that picked Pacquiao to win good call!
Manny has my official support as the P4P best.......Until my man Floyd
          gets at him ;-)

All in all big props to Manny Pacquiao. Didn't know he could be so dominate
and he put his foot in Hatton's ass and walked around the ring with him
          on it.

80% of the part was excited, the rest were like 'wtf, it's over?' Mighta failed to create as many new diehards as I wanted last nite, but I enjoyed the beatdown.

wow i just could not beleive how good the pac is, now i beleive, he was just amazing, he made ricky look awful, i think trying to alter his style killed his chances, but realy everyone of pacs punches had power and speed, they all looked hard and he looked bigger than hatton, im a hatton fan but you know i think its time to hang up the gloves youve had a great career but good danm he was just not hatton tonight, hats off too pac ya got a new fan in me.

Manny KO'd him in 2 yes, but was Floyd TRYING to KO Hatton that quickly?

In the Floyd fight, Floyd was actually the bigger stronger guy with the harder punches, but his style is to be on the defensive/potshot (with punches that favour speed over power) and watch the guy fight till he's ready to start unloading the big guns and finish up. It helps create the illusion that the other guy actually had a chance so he could do that fake "Oh thankyou lord!" with hands raised in the air celebration thing lol.

He did it with Gatti and he did it with Hatton.

Now, if Floyd came out swinging from the first bell like Manny did and didn't manage to hurt him (which I think he could've done easily if he really tried, I mean it's not that hard to hit Hatton lol) as quick as Manny, then I think this comparison would be fair.

Someone who comes forward and throws bombs right from the word go is OBVIOUSLY gonna hurt the other guy quicker than someone who just lies on the ropes most of the time till the other guy is tired and then goes to work.

Is just common sense isn't it?

It's like two guys masturbating. One goes slow and one goes like a rabbit from the word go. The one who goes like a rabbit ******s quickly, then the one who goes slower tries to tell him that he's a premature ejaculator.
                  It's just a ******ed comparison

Both guys KO'd Hatton pretty damn decisively, it's just that they used different methods, which uncoincidentially yeilded different results in terms of speed of KO.

Dont get me wrong, I think Manny vs Mayweather would be a ****ing AWESOME fight and I'm not trying to rain on anyones parade (I think Floyd is a ****, I respect Manny, and I supported Hatton both of these fights lol ), but the comparisons people are using in regards to how quickly Hatton was put down dont really work, because both fighters use different styles.

                  My 2penniezezezezezez.
                  Hmm... What an usual analogy.

Pacquiao is the "Fighter of the Decade and an All-time Great in Boxing."

Where are The Hatton Huggers and Pacman Haters???

PBF is not in Pacmans class with it comes to Guts, Gifhting Skills and Ferocity.

I can't believe this fight went down the way it did. I'm not surprised Hatton lost. I'm not surprised he was knocked out. But my mind is blown off of how he was beaten and knocked out. I expected Hatton to lose in a semi close decission or get stopped late. What really blows my mind is what was the game plan? I saw no head movement, no jab, and hands down. Three months of training... What was the game plan? It appeared there wasn't a plan.
