Well.
All I can say is I was surprised. lol I mean sure Hatton wasn't indestructible we saw Floyd rag doll him.......but what's ruthless is how fast Pacquaio executed him. Hatton gave Floyd one of the toughest fights he's had because of the rounds where he pressured him. That was before Floyd separated himself and showed the class eventually knocking him out.
Hatton looked like a damn amateur, and seemed to be an even more wreckless version of his old self that everyone feared would get him into that predicament. There was no new defense, there was absolutely no head movement....he was a target lol.
Clearly Manny Pacquiao is the best p4p 1a fighter to JMM's 1b.
The two have a lot of unfinished business. That being said I'd expect Marquez if he fought Hatton to probably do the same thing Floyd did. Withstand some pressure, and then knock him out. These guys I know will admit are just on a different level as fighters that is clear.
Sucks I like watching Hatton fight and it's pretty unfulfilling when he gets knocked out in TWO ROUNDS. I felt bad watching him lay there.
WTF Freddy the "Joke Coach" Roach with his stellar predictions.
Not really much of a joke.

Why are some people acting like Floyd and Manny have the same style?
Manny KO'd him in 2 yes, but was Floyd TRYING to KO Hatton that quickly?
In the Floyd fight, Floyd was actually the bigger stronger guy with the harder punches, but his style is to be on the defensive/potshot (with punches that favour speed over power) and watch the guy fight till he's ready to start unloading the big guns and finish up. It helps create the illusion that the other guy actually had a chance so he could do that fake "Oh thankyou lord!" with hands raised in the air celebration thing lol.
He did it with Gatti and he did it with Hatton.
Now, if Floyd came out swinging from the first bell like Manny did and didn't manage to hurt him (which I think he could've done easily if he really tried, I mean it's not that hard to hit Hatton lol) as quick as Manny, then I think this comparison would be fair.
Someone who comes forward and throws bombs right from the word go is OBVIOUSLY gonna hurt the other guy quicker than someone who just lies on the ropes most of the time till the other guy is tired and then goes to work.
Is just common sense isn't it?
It's like two guys masturbating. One goes slow and one goes like a rabbit from the word go. The one who goes like a rabbit ******s quickly, then the one who goes slower tries to tell him that he's a premature ejaculator.
It's just a ******ed comparison
Both guys KO'd Hatton pretty damn decisively, it's just that they used different methods, which uncoincidentially yeilded different results in terms of speed of KO.
Dont get me wrong, I think Manny vs Mayweather would be a ****ing AWESOME fight and I'm not trying to rain on anyones parade (I think Floyd is a ****, I respect Manny, and I supported Hatton both of these fights lol ), but the comparisons people are using in regards to how quickly Hatton was put down dont really work, because both fighters use different styles.

Floyds FAVOURITE thing to do is be on the back foot while someone stands right in front of him. Nearly every fight, his opponent is sposed to be the one who will pressure and break him, pretty much walking into his comfort zone, thinking that he doesn't like being pushed back.
When you're coming forward all the time, someone with the reflexes and speed of Floyd hardly needs to do anything other than watch how you throw your punches, learn to time you, and then pot shot you as you walk forward and end up smothering yourself.
Zab Judah showed everyone how to fight Mayweather, but noone seems to understand.
How do you beat a bully? You ****ing bully them. Pac refused to be pushed around by Hatton and ended up taking him out.
How do you beat a highly technical fighter? You either pressure them (which doesn't work against Floyd), or outdo them at their own game. Zab Judah is just as obsessive about punching with speed and precision as Floyd is. He was beating him to the punch and scoring etc etc.
Imagine what it would be like if someone would just take a step back when Floyd sits on the ropes, steps in and pops a jab and steps back out again? Even if it was innefective, you'd be in and out, forcing Floyd to come off the ropes (his safehaven) to try and counter you, bringing the fight into the middle of the ring.
Yet all people seem to want to do is put fighters who just plod forward and swing in front of Mayweather like they dont realize that it's his perfect match up.
Either that, or fighters are just so scared of looking bad against Floyd, that they refuse to box him and try to outmuscle him instead. I dont know.
I'm probably making this sound too easy, but I really dont want to see another plodding pressure fighter against Floyd. I'm bored of them.
Now, who has technical skillz and would attempt to BOX against Mayweather.Last edited by GrizzleBoy; 05-03-2009, 04:27 AM.
