I think Mayweather is making statements like this to set up not having to fight Pacquiao. He's taking on a guy stepping up two divisions to fight him who gave Pacquiao his toughest fights, in a draw and a decision loss, and playing triangle games.

Mayweather matches up with the more analytical, laid back Marquez than Pacquiao, who would just jump in on him so it works out for the best for him. The DLH and Hatton destructions have put a lot of pressure on Mayweather IMO to set the record straight if he truly desires to be the best fighter in the world.

He has the guy, in his weight range, and it's Pacquiao. I have serious doubts as to whether or not Mayweather would take the Pacquiao fight.

Of course he's planning to fight Pacquiao. Why else would he hold a press conference on the same day of his fight? Why else would he fight Marquez?

Too much money in this for him to reject it. This fight will happen.

I can keep going all day as can you the other way around but the point is it's far from ALL boxing experts thinking marquez won that 2nd fight.

floyd is a joke, he'll never be remembered as a great boxer because his opposition is carefully hand picked.

mayweather vs marquez is a joke fight, why pick a midget when you can get mosley, williams or even cotto...

Larry merchant actually had marquez winning. Going into the 12th round larry stated that he had marquez up by one round and if you gave manny the 12th then I don't know what to say. He just said i'm calling it a draw cause both fighters gave great performances in the end. Don't matter anymore and unfortunately we probably won't see pac/marquez III since manny is moving up to welter to fight cotto.

The same will go for Joe Calzaghe.....

Because when Mayweather beats Mosley everyone will say he fought an "OLD" "not in his PRIME" Mosley. Williams will be picking on a midget if he fought Mayweather, and Cotto is about to fight Clottey.

Call it what you want but JMM is a solid tune up fight for PBF.

I think floyd is promoting this wrong... he shouldn't say jmm is better than pac... he should say that jmm is a tune up for pac... this way, when jmm/floyd sells out big, floyd can say even his tune ups make huge money.

the mexicans will get pissed and buy the fight.

why be respectful now... just go with what got you to the top; be arrogant.
