So to confirm, Tonight I believe Hatton needs to use the following tactics to win.
1)Circle away from the left hand:The most obvious one that I have been saying since the fight was made. If there is one thing he needs to do it's this, otherwise, he's not going the 12 rounds.
2) Step off to side then set up off the jab: I still believe Pac doesn't like throw as much when the left isnt in line with the opponent, as you circle away from his left, pump the jab, follow up with the right hand.
3) Use the Side door:This one is tricky, i'm aware this might not be foolproof but here goes. Manny has spent months training for Ricky to rush in and square up. Use a different game plan, come in from the side. Circle the left, jab, so he's at at an angle to pac rather than being square on. Then close distance from that angle by using the lead right and possibly even set up the left hook to body. Not a foolproof plan because once he's at an angle, the jab might not be effective, but he can use it as he starts to step to the side then use the right hand lead to actually get inside. This isn't about being flashy on the outside, It's about getting on the inside without taking punishment.
4) When you get inside, Foul Foul Foul, and look for the left hook.
As the above makes it clear, if and when hatton gets inside, he needs to make the most of whatever time the ref allows him to have there, he also needs to get there without taking head punishment. If this happens, he stands a good chance of a stoppage win.
