Oscar dela Hoya: I pick Hatton

Oscar De La Hoya has dismissed the odds of the Las Vegas bookmakers and predicted a win for Ricky Hatton against Manny Pacquiao on Saturday night.

The Filipino southpaw dominated the Golden Boy over eight rounds in December - a bout which turned out to be De La Hoya's last.

But, despite that defeat which has caused the bookmakers to make Pacquiao the favourite for the super-fight, De La Hoya is confident Hatton will remain king of the light-welterweight division.

"I think the idea for Hatton would be to pressure," De La Hoya told Sky Sports News. "Pressure Manny Pacquiao because he does not like pressure. If you study his past fights he does not like pressure.

"If you take a look at Erik Morales when he fought him at 135 pounds and he felt strong, he pressured Manny and he didn't like it.

"As long as he can do that and as long as he can control him with his jab. I'm pretty sure Floyd Mayweather Snr will have him using that jab at least 30 or 40 times a round.

"It's going to be interesting because obviously when he fought me I was not a solid primed welterweight I was a drained weak can't-throw-any-punches kind of fighter so it's going to be very interesting.

"Ricky Hatton is the real deal. Ricky Hatton is the overall package and he has all round good skills. He's very aggressive, he's strong, he's fast and he has the ability to win. It'll be a win."

Wow, didnt Dela hoya predict that he himself will KO manny? So of course he would want the guy who beat him to submission to lose, after all, Manny made him look like roberto duran in his "NO Mas" fight. And now "dela excuses" says he was drained weak. Hey, Training is just as much part of the fight as the match itself. With all of his years of experience and training he should of never had let that happen to himself !!! Too bad he can never take that fight back and he had to retire with his last fight a domination over him instead of the "Bring back the glory to my Mexican fans" in which he thought by taking a smaller fighter it was gonna be an easy win for himself.
