I've posted my ideas on what I think his weight class is as well as the idea of weight-classes in general on how they are run.
So, I say Floyd should do what he wants; be a free agent and sign off on whatever weight he wants to have a fight at. That goes for everybody. It could be 145, 146...whatever. Few care to have fighters actually fight in the proper division based on the actual weight listed in the division by fight-time. So, let him do what he wants since everybody else is anyway. Under the HW division is a bit of a joke anyway the way things are run. There are more divisions today than in the past and nobody follows the number anyway except for making weight on the scales. That's what boxing is: Who can make the weight for the scales based on dehydrating the body and see if you can rehydrate to 1-3 weight-classes above to get an advantage (if you can be healthy).
And "Titles": which one of the 50 do you want?
At the end of the day, it's about the "Name" of the opponents that draws attention to the Boxing World and helps bring in the "Casual Fan."
Many big fights have been between smaller and bigger fighters getting together...it's the name. You hear: Size doesn't matter as much as skill....so let it be.
And for Floyd, if he fights the so called "WW" that fight in that division, he'll be the smaller man in all his fights yet most will probably only see both fighters as "equal." But I'm also in favor of him fighting such "bigger" fighters since to me, he will get even more credit in my book.
The Fighters that are his size/weight by fight-time are more in line with the JrWW, maybe even lightweights as example set by Pac who was able to come in at 147 by fight-time for Diaz. And then we have Gatti vs. Gamache: Gatti was reported to be 15+ over the weight class.
