I actually had the fight closer the judges (except for the one who had Froch winning). When Taylor was working off of his jab it was beautiful When he floored Froch in the 3rd and didn't try to capitalize, my roommate who is a casual fan starting yelling at him to finish Carl unlike Pavlik. As soon as the round ended he said Froch is going to KO him now, no matter how good Taylor looks now. My roommate is an idiot on his best days, but just like Lenox Lewis tonight during the Petersen/Blain fight, he was dead on accurate and as for Lewis, he was insightful. Taylor could fight Allan Green next. The fight makes sense. DiBella is their promoter and it would be a nice step-up for Allan all the while keeping Jermain in a relatively high-profile fight that he would be very competitive in. Plus it would be easy to make. As for Froch, the kid showed grit. Sure his technique is horrible. Hell he holds his left hand like he was ***ing Josh Blue and his footwork is that of a drunk cripple. Carl's determination is unquestionable and his entertainment value is better than that Welsh SMW that we saw avoid fights like this when he was Froch's age. Granted Froch would've been destroyed by Joe, but at least he is fun to watch. Imagine a fight between Froch and Andrade, or Sakio Bika? Man, I would travel for that. BTW Rado is right, Kessler kills Froch in an great fight where the fans would be the true winners. And both fighters would deserve their post-fight respect.

lol That was an amazing fight. Froch just has a nasty style, especially for someone like Taylor.

Jermain Taylor is so skilled, and understands the game so well, yet he fails to finish fights or his opponents.

It looked as though his right hand was hurt after the 8th round, but he should have gotten on the bike and made the Englishmen chase him around.

I'd love to see a rematch.

              Taylor should be admired.

Whatever one can say about Taylor, it cannot be said he avoids anyone. I am a Kelly Pavlik fan but I am getting sick quick of him fighting stiffs. The last true stiff Taylor fought was Spinks and he wasn't so much a stiff as just undersized. All Taylor really needs to be REALLY almost unbeatable is a trainer other than Stewart or his homeboy. Stewart trains nothing but defense then seems shocked when his fighters don't punch. He's turned Vlad into nothing but a jabber for God's sake. He lost his heart for war when Hearns was KO'ed by Hagler. If he is so great how come he let Lewis come in such crappy condition for Rock and Vlad get whacked by Sander's left hand. Taylor's current trainer is just simply in over his head.
Taylor is the most talented boxer in the Middle - Super Middle divisions, with Roach, Mcgirt or even Ann Wolfe as his trainer he would have mowed down Froch. He has fought nothing but Champions or former Champions for YEARS and with all the ****ty matches us boxing fans are subjected to, we should appauld that. His corner hasn't properly prepared him since the first Hopkin's fight in my opinion.
Oh and for the record, Pavlik has EXACTLY the same problem now, His trainer can't compete against a real trainer that teaches any offense. I DO believe he would have KO'ed Froch pretty early since Froch actually got hit quite a bit and Pavlik has heavier hands than Taylor. Pavlik would have finished after that knockdown. You could almost see Taylor thinking "Don't waste any energy!"

In an amazing display of guts and perseverance, Carl Froch rescued his title with 14 seconds left in the twelfth and final round to stop Jermain Taylor in what very well may go down as the comeback of the year - within a fight.

Down on two official judges' scorecards, by scores of 106-102, (he was leading 106-102 on the third card) Froch needed a knockout to retain his title and he was finally able to put together a powerful combination of punches to drop Taylor in the final round. In an amazing last round stoppage victory to retain his title, similar to Jake LaMotta vs. Laurent Dauthuille in 1950, Carl Froch held onto the green belt of the WBC title in positively stunning fashion. 1st it was froch doesn't have power couldn't |KO pascal......Pascal is more of a figher than JT will ever be..what an overrated bum

Taylor just isn't the fighter you state side fans expected him to be...expectations for him were too high...and he never really developed into the fighter that many thought he would...that's not to say that he wasn't good...but there was a lot missing...

first that was exploited by pavlik, now the Cobra........the Cobra strike far harder than the ghost
I,ll give him credit for gutting out a good win, but from what I saw , he will not beat any of the other true 168 lb champs, or even Andrade, although I would love to see that one. He should not wish for Calzaghe, Bad move, He might get it.

Maybe the fact that Steward didn't team up with Wlad until after the Sanders fight could possibly have had something to do with it?

Jermain Taylor could be trained by God himself, it wouldn't make a difference. He was physically ruined as a fighter by Kelly Pavlik.

Its sad to see, but he is headed in the same direction as Meldrick Taylor.

The beating he took from Kelly Pavlik ended his prime.

Great win for Froch. Although, and purely my own opinion, Taylor could of and should of taken a UD and moved on. Froch recovered, based mainly on the fact that JT tired, and showed the heart of a champ and never gave up. I respect that in a fighter and he should hold his head high in this victory. As for JT, well, what can I say, everyone knows how to beat him anymore and the ones with true heart, will. I don't see him on that upper elite level anymore unless he can SERIOUSLY get with a trainer that can get that boy in 12 round shape! The kid has talent out the ass yet can't ever seem, as of late, to let it shine because he ends up gassing. When he looks back on this fight, because in my opinion, this fight was a career defining moment for him, he will see that 'he' and 'he' alone, lost this fight. Again, hats off to Froch. Enjoy it sir.
