OSCAR DELAHOYA GOT A BEATDOWN BY A SMALLER FIGHTER.
Give Oscar all the excuses you want, OSCAR DID NOT NEED THIS FIGHT
Damn, its been almost 6 months and people still trying to give DLH excuses. Maybe the beatdown was intended to give DLH a lesson that he shouldnt be ripping off people with these USELESS matchups when God knew he wasnt even a legitimate contender anymore. Things happen for reason.

Oscar could have asked any of the top Welters to make the Move to 154 for a big fight. No doubt, Cotto or Margarito etc would have jumped at the chance.

here are the excuses of manny's victims..
1. Barrera: his training camp caught fire
2. Morales 3: drained and dehydrated
3. Marquez: downed 4times, still insisting he should've won
4. DLH: drained and dehydrated
5. Hatton: let's wait..

It's in the past.
Yes, Emanuel Steward is correct that Oscar was weight drained, and that wasn't the "real" Oscar as a fighter that anyone expected that night. The fact remains that Oscar chose Pacquiao for the fight, he chose to come in at his lightest weight in over ten years, and he himself has said he had his doubts coming into the fight during his retirement speech, so I don't see the point in debating this.
As far as Oscar returning, I honestly don't see it happening. He lost in crushing and debilitating fashion because he had nothing left as a fighter. There's no shame in admitting the honest truth to yourself, especially when you are a multi-million dollar fighter with his successful own promotional company and everything achieved already. I hope he never comes back personally, he has nothing more to prove and should be glad he accomplished so much for himself and the sport of boxing.
