First, when is Bob Arum going to stop criticizing every major show that he doesn't have a role in promoting. It's beneath someone who's accomplished as much as he has as a promoter to constantly criticize and show that much jealousy toward any star that doesn't align itself with him. This is the main reason why I can't stand Bob Arum.

Second, does Dana White really make sure guys come in shape? I didn't know that. I coulda swore that anytime I watch UFC that most of those guys are kinda flabby even in non-Heavyweight fights. They only fight for like 2 or 3 minutes most of the time anyway though. UFC fights are like bar fights. You don't need to be in shape to be in or even win one.

As much as I normally loathe Arum, I'll agree. There's nothing about Nips' fights that appeals to me. Yeah he's hungry (for food) and he comes to fight (at a snail's pace), but That Don't Impress Me Much.

The fight with McCline was like a wet fart. Thank fuck I had the PWill fight to look forward to during those wasted 30mins of my life.

            I agree!

Dana White is a bad ass though.... Only presidant I know that challenged one of his fighters (Tito Ortiz)! Fight never happened but still he was actually going to fight him...... I'm sure he knew he would get his ass kicked but still he was man enough to get in shape and take the challenge...

point is.... HE DID what he expects HIS fighters to do. Dana Whites the man!

Anyway I respect both MMA and boxing! Boxing will always come first, but UFC is a BAMF'in SPORT.....

On the street I would much rather have MMA skills than that of a boxer any day!

Disagree. Areola did what he had to do. Stop the guy in front of him impressively. He didnt look winded or out of shape. Not a beauty or Mr Universe contest, its a fight. I remember on Haseem Roc who has looked disgusting in last 2 fights. Who promotes him?

i completely agree with what he's saying about fighters representing the division and professionalism or lack thereof, and the sport for that matter. i have never liked the HW division, at least not since the days of holyfield bowe, you could honestly say, well i will say and stand behind it, that the last real heavyweight that was an honest fighter, was lennox lewis, i know that some from his day are still in boxing but they're not at the level they once were at their prime, actually they're now adding to the disgrace to the HW's by more ways than one. i'm mainly talking about the fact that some are staying in the game WAY TOO LONG, and arent' competitive anymore, and risk getting hurt permanently. but that aside, the only HW that i can think of that used to deliver, was lennox lewis, and not only that, he fought who there was to fight, as the same with holyfield.

but now, HW's are all out of shape and look for an early ko, they don't train to fight 12 rounds consistently, they look to survive their lack of stamina form usually the 4th round on til the end of the fight, whichever round that is, but not only that, in this survival mode that we're being tortured into watching, there are only moments in the fights to where one is actually trying to win, once tired, the rest of the time it's a slow lugging clinch fest, or sloppy amateurish fashion, which is always painful to watch. i grimace every time im subjected to watch a HW fight.

not all HW fights are ****, i know that, but the majority is much to be desired, that is for sure. i would go so far as to pull HW boxing from tv until it starts delivering something that resembles modern boxing, instead of some Catch wrestling or Sumo wrestling. arreola has a chance at turning this perception around, but as long as he keeps expanding around the mid section, it's not going to happen, unless he absolutely destroys everyone in his path, which isnt likely the longer the fight lasts.

all i know, is that HW's especially American HW's, need to regroup and refocus, and get their **** together! the one that trains like a mad man and the one that takes his weight seriously, the one that focuses on boxing and executes team strategy (provided it's the right strategy), will be the one who can revive the division and dominate. the klitchsko are the closest to this and david haye, provided he can take a punch form a real HW. HW's form russia are more focused than the American HW fighters too.

if we wanted to watch big, fat, sloppy, overweight guys fight in a non exciting exhibition? we would watch " toughman" competitions.............

arum is right about this subject.

ridiculous comment by Arum,.. who was a fan of the oh-so-popular Butterbean. besides McCline always comes in between 265 and 270,.. nobody's ever complained about his looks before Areola.
