I'm not buying it. Shane is a partner with Oscar De La Hoya at Golden
Boy and that company is making HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF $!! His wife
will get hit off but as long as Shane is running with Oscar he gets paid
bottom line. Shane wants a krack at the fame. He should have got off
his high horse in 99 and the other time and gave Floyd his shot. Now he
is coming back asking for a shot when Floyd wanted one from Shane?
& Floyd is supposed to make it easy for him? My whole thing is that
guys should be calling Shane not the other way around.

I have to admit this honestly. Not as a Mayweather fan only
but as a boxing fan and an observer of styles, Miguel Cotto
doesn't stand a chance against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sure
the fight would be fun to watch but checking how these two
guys fight & how they adapt in the ring I see Cotto getting
hit by every Mayweather punch & missing a lot of his own.
I just can't see Cotto being quick or defensive enough to
avoid a Mayweather thrashing. Judah was tagging Cotto
early & if he was able to take Miguel Cotto's power away &
keep his mental together he would have beat Cotto but we
all know Zab ain't no Mayweather.

I just think Mayweather is too smart for Cotto technically
& would Gatti/Ndou him. Antonio Margarito is/was an overrated
fighter & I think Paul/Mosley proved that. Guys like Cotto/Margarito only known for power & pressure, you take that away from them & their clueless to win. Floyd does Margarito like he did Baldomir/De La Hoya, Floyd's safety first style would give him the win. He may have not fought everyone at 147 but there is NO denying that the kid is better than all of them

He hasn't fought them, so he is better than them all? Do you have any idea how ******ed that sounds?

Talent & technical wise he is. Why does that sound ******ed? They don't
have to fight in the ring for me to see that.

            What the big deal?

Mayweather doesnt want to come off a long layoff and fight mosley right away, he wants a tune up before that and then it will be Pacquaio if they both win.

            We already knew this.

Its very simple, Mayweather does a tune up, maybe against JMM, he's sharpening up for Pacquiao, this is the fight its all leading up to, you'd be naive to think anything else.

            One more time.

Mayweather Vs Pacquaio, biggest fight in boxing, thats the aim.

I hear you and that's what it will ultimately boil down to but Shane Mosley is the guy that is making this a big news thing? Mosley should just fight in the meantime. It's exactly what I said would happen. No one cares about Mosley right now that is a boxing super star because he's not bringing the $, so he is off the radar right now. He should have fought Berto & beat the underfeated fighter & got that other strap & built up his name even more. Mosley is an out cast right now. He will have to fight the winner or Cotto/Clottey.

                grustler!

hower u man?! i agree with u regarding floyd returning the favor to sugar shane!

floyd is really a smart boxer/businessman... he is like in the mould of ray leonard in this regard...

he lets marg & cotto cancel each other out, then mosley takes care of margs, margs just about done in this business, then cotto & clottey again cancels each other out again while mosley waits as he continues to age... all these happening while his stock rises bcoz of fans clamoring for his return... he makes his comeback fully rested & ready to rumble...

brilliant... just brilliant... a brilliant move by floyd, unintended or not...

                genius...

Hey man! how are you? Yeah, What Floyd Mayweather
Jr is doing right now business wise is what Shane Mosley
& Paul Williams and a lot of other boxers/fighters would like
to do with their careers. I was always told that it's only 10%
talent and 90% business that gets you to where you have
to go and Floyd has both talent and business locked down.
Shane is calling him for a fight and he's active right now?
Floyd got dibs on JMM, Pacquiao and a rematch with Hatton?
Those are the 3 biggest, respected $ fighters in the sport right
now & Floyd can pick who he wants to fight? The guy is a genius. I respect him as a talent and as a business man because I can see his vision. Shane should be the man right now but you have bosses and workers, Floyd is a boss & Mosley is a worker. Much respect to Shane but right now he's pissing me off waiting for a big fight.

Floyd is expected to return in September 2009. His last fight was in December 2007. That's close to two full years for a fighter in his 30's.

Let's wait and see how he looks in his first bout back which should be a tune-up fight.

Did anyone actually believe Floyd would take this as his first fight back?
He's been trying to get a smaller JMM, but if he fails to I wouldn't mind seeing him take Berto's belt or even take on Bradley.
