    Has a #2 p4p ever overtaken a #1 p4p?

While both are active? Because if not, Marquez has a chance to be the first to do it.

Pound for Pound lists are up to the person making them, they're completely subjective, so maybe.

I don't know about that. I remember a few years ago when Floyd and Winky were The Ring's 1 and 2, that fight was actually in talks but apparently it fell apart due to money issues.

Pernell Whitaker was #2, Julio Cesar Chavez was #1. there was no doubt those two were the top guys in boxing at the time.

I know it was a draw, but we all know Pernell won.

              Marquez is fighting Hopkins?

I know McGirt was high up when he faced Whitaker, not sure if he was number one.

yes, if p4p #1 loses then p4p #2 moves up.
