There are a few people in the non-combatants section that you may be unhappy with.

      No. Just...no.
Good Lord who suggest Tarver??? Thats horrible.

The Gatti debate I remember. No one was suggesting he make it on the actual merits of his resume, but instead on what he represented. People were saying he was what boxing was all about, and all that never say die warrior stuff..... That only lasted for a short time around the period he retired, and I think it has died down. I for one never thought he should be in.

Hamed is an intersting case. Of the 3 I would probably place him closest to the IBHoF, but I think I would still leave him out.

main problem with the IBHoF is the rule that a certain # of fighters HAVE to go in each year.

One of the things I notice about the HoF guys is that they beat, OR WERE HIGHLY COMPETITIVE WITH another HoF fighter. I'm forced to ask myself "who did hamed beat"?

I'm VERY surprised there's no Jimmy Wilde in that list. I mean, the man was the stuff of legend.

Boxing is a sport that has a 125 year history. It is the oldest major surviving sport.

When you go into the HOF , it is not just the greatest fighters of all time. It is the greatest fighters who were the greatest in their time. It is a tribute to the boxers who have gone before, and to those who have strived to reach the standard their predecessors have set.

If you go International Boxing Hall of Fame website

The Inductees are that are put into the Hall of Fame are named in five categories:

                    • Modern (Last bout no earlier than 1943)
                    • Old-Timer (Last bout no earlier than 1893; no later than 1942)
                    • Pioneer (Last bout in or prior to 1892),
                    • Non- Participant (Those who have made contributions to the sport
apart from roles as boxers or observers. Based upon a candidates achievements and contributions in their particular field)
                    • Observer (Print and media journalists, publishers, writers,
                      historians, photographers and artists)
