In this thread: Delusional, incredibly naive Americans who think that their Spec OPs are unstoppable at anything.

Well. Clearly a boxer who trains day in day out to win fights with his fist is going to beat a fit soldier with some unarmed combat training.

Ive seen military unarmed training, they dont punch or block punches to the head because all soldiers wear helmuts.

I know you guys love your military but jesus, dont be ******, Navy Seals couldnt win Vietnam and they sure as hell cant win a streetfight against a boxer.

A Navy SEAL would wreck a boxer in the street. Pretty dumb question IMO (no offense to thread starter). Boxers train for boxing. SEAL's are trained for killing. SEAL's also don't limit themselves to just punches. Draw your own conclusions.

Well put. It's kind of like saying who hits harder: Jeff Reed or Ray Lewis?

HAHAH And the boxer is limited to just punching too? Have you seen a steetfight in real life? Guys try and land punches on eachother.....guess what a boxer does for his job.

They are trained to kill yes...but that is with guns. Unarmed combat is a small part of there training, and as I said above alot of the moves arent taylored to fight somebody like a boxer.

I cant beleive that alot of people in this thread are saying the SEAL would win. He might win once out of 10 times they fight but thats about it. When I see **** like:

          I want to throw up.

EH..... it really depends on the two guys. How much hand to hand live action the particular SEAL has seen, etc.
The short answer is yes. A green Seal out of the Academy is very likely to get laid flat by a salty, street wise, mid thirties boxer.
Street fights are hard to analyze, but it really comes down to ability and intention. A well trained, seasoned fighter who makes his mind up to lay somebody out is not something to take lightly in the real world.
I was a 140 pound, 17 year old nothing when I punked a 200 pound 21 year old Marine. It all comes down to the situation.

You could make that argument about Boxers, Judoka, MMA fighters, American Gangsters, British Football fans, etc.
Street fight come down to the person involved, their motivation, ability and intent. A Pro Boxer really is better trained to take someone out in a hand to hand situation.
My best friend is a scrawny, white, computer technician. He beat the **** out of jacked marine in a street fight a few weeks ago. Why? Cause he made up his mind to do so. Think Rorsach from Watchmen. lol

                This.
A Seal is trained to kill your average, cannon fodder, rifle firing soldier. In hand to hand combat, a real boxer is anything but that. That goes for MMA fighters, Judoka, Eskrimadors, anyone who spends more time on melee combat in general.

                  Good post.
I dont think most people understand the difference between an average "tough guy" and a real fighter. The gap is a lot wider than people understand.

I really wish people wouldnt glorify military ability like this. I have seen military of all kinds punk in all different ways.
What about a cop versus a pro fighter? Cops see a lot more live action hand to hand then Seals.
The fact is one is military: guns, management, survival, communication. One is just fighting. The difference is big.
