Maybe it was just my Green and Gold coloured glasses but I only scored 2 rounds for Chavez. I spat out my OJ when I heard the commentators say Chavez was putting on a clinic.

I haven't really seen a boring Katsidis fight. I would pay to see him fight. I still see him beating a lot of of dudes in his division.

Its also flat out wrong. An Arturo Gatti? Maybe but deffo not a poor man's Gatti.

If every fighter faught like Gatti and Katsidis I have no doubt that Boxing would be one of the most popular sports worldwide.

If he can get with a realy trainer I see good things for him, he seems to have lost a bit of self belief and is just tapering off at the moment.

Katsidis is one of my fav active fighters, he is not the most skilled guy in the world but he is very exiciting, i would say he is a top 10 contender though. A Khan fight would be well good i think Khan would outbox him but if just one of Katsidis punches lands flush on Khan's chin he will be out of it imo.

I think I heard has leg problems and hand problems all the time. I watched the first, two rounds and decided to fast forward to the end to spoil the fight but it seemed to me that chavez won the first two rounds. Did he win most of the rounds before getting stopped? Not a good sign from someone who supposenly always has injuries to be out-pointing Katsidis.
Chavez lost nearly every round on the scorecards from all the judges. I think he basically won the first two, then just got overtaken.

Anyway, he is certainly not a stepping stone. He's a young fighter that will be around the top of the division for years. If he would only get a new trainer then I believe he could become a good champion as well. I truly believe that he has the worst professional trainer in boxing right now and that both of his losses could have been prevented. His loss to Casa was tragic and 90% of that was his trainers fault. Diaz would probably have beaten him still but he had a chance with a good trainer.

If anyone from Katsidis' team reads these boards, get him a new trainer! That guy is an utter disgrace to pro trainers everywhere and is ruining the career of a fighter that could become a good champion as well as a Gattiesque superstar. He needs to go badly. I've never seen so much bad advice given to one fighter in one fight, or just doing moronic things like blocking the cutman and basically stopping him from being able to work on a hideous cut that nearly had the fight stopped against him. Was he trying to lose Katsidis the fight?

This is exactly what I was gonna say! With the right match making HBO or SHO could have a huge star just like Gatti was. Opponents like David Diaz, Julio Diaz, the guy who just beat Julio Diaz come to mind. He doesn't need to be at the top or win a belt just be put into back and forth brawls where he can come out on top and you have your modern day Gatti. We just need to find his Mickey ward now!

Gatekeeper, although his potential may be higher than one. I doubt he'll ever receive the proper instruction to really step up his game.
