Very good, insightful post. Not allot of people realize that Vitali actually was not in training for the fight while Lennox was. He filled in on late notice and took LL to school. Sure he lost on cuts, but people saying that Lennox was over the hill holds no merrit seeing as how he had just utterly dominated Tyson in his previous fight. He was as prepared as he was for any 'normal' fight he had been in prior to that. (normal, meaning not facing Tyson or avenging losses)

Vitali deserves the credit for it and he gets it for the most part. People remembered what Lennox had done to Tyson and were very impressed when Vitali was getting the better of him. Most of the public clamored for the rematch and were upset when Lennox retired before making it happen.

      not true.
Vitali was in training before the fight against Lewis, he was fighting on the undercard against the then undefeated Cedric Boswell.

Lewis was fighting Kirk Johnson, which was a joke considering Lewis's sparring partnet, John Ruiz, dropped him and got a DQ win over him.

That would make sense, if it was indeed true. Otherwise I doubt that Lennox would have ever faced a Klitschko at all.

I agree. The guy he was fighting was a good kicker, but it was a terrible mismatch and should have been stopped early.

Personally I don't like kickboxing and ultimate fighting and those other fighting sports. I think they cause too many permanent injuries. Vitali has a lot of injuries plaguing him from his kickboxing days.
