The point is that he lost the last round on two of the judges scorecards, and if it hadn't been for that, he'd have won the fight.

Although some fight reports I read agreed with you that he did about enough to win the round, they all said Winky coasted in that round and that he could, and should, have done a lot more in the last round, and that he should have tried to win it convincingly instead of just coasting. (I'm not talking about HBO).

I think this is going to be an intense fight and very entertaining. There is a lot on the line here and neither fighter has much of an immediate future if they catch an L. Judges like activity and we've seen winky have problems with the judges when his opponent makes him keep him on the defensive all night. Both guys have huge stones for taking the fight but I think pwills activity is going to carry him to a decision. These are the kinda fights I dig, along with Bradley holt, PAC hatton. You can keep the Chavez jrs, duddys, pavlik mismatches, and the money may mismatches. And the ppv tune ups

I think Winky has got this one and it has the potential to be a complete schooling for Winky, I think he will surprise a lot of people backing PW.

I can understand him complaining about the Vargas and Taylor fights which I thought he won, but come on the Hopkins fight was his own fault of coming in out of shape and taking Hopkins lightly. I was rooting for him that fight and he let his fans down by coming in out of shape. If he came in fit and with his usual high work rate he had a damn good chance to win that fight but he ****ed it up. Hopkins lost to calzaghe and Taylor based on activity, Winky should have came in top shape and used his activity and defense to win the rounds.

winky is a SW and that could williams some problems, but williams knows how to use his height and reach, and is just too busy, in the end i think williams by UD.

I havent seen Williams use his height and reach much at all, he usually crowds himself and throws inside. He isnt that much taller than Wright and Wright is the bigger stronger guy who has been at these weights longer.

Williams definitely isnt going to be outboxing Winky on the outside, he will have to get inside and use high output like he usually does, so the reach advantages wont mean much.

His best chance is if he can keep a high output and not let Winky dictate the fight with his jab and hope that winky is too old or comes in out of shape and unable to deal with his high output.

I don't see why people come down on Winky in the Hopkins fight honestly. Winky did the best against Hopkins despite fighting at an uncomfortable weight, having a cut and Hopkins excessive holding.

I had that fight 7 rounds to 5 at best for Hopkins but it was no where NEAR a schooling or anything. That said, when you remove P Will's volume away really what is he?? Quintana showed that if you can get inside of his punches, you can land and beat him to the punch effectively. Despite Winky's age, I think his jab (as usual) will be key in scoring him a win.

The Winky haters will then say, "he beat an blown up welterweight"

I agree with this for the most part. I'm still picking Williams to win based on that 18 month layoff or whatever it is. That's a long time for anyone not named sugar ray leonard.
