Pacquiao vs. Chavez Jr. in 2009, Says Bob Arum

In a shocker, Top Rank’s Bob Arum, following Julio Cesar Chavez’s ten round decision over Luciano Cuello in Tinjuana, Mexico - said Chavez might fight Manny Pacquiao at the end of the year in a major event with a Mexico vs. Philippines theme. Chavez is a junior middleweight and Pacquiao has only fought once above 135-pounds, when he stopped Oscar De La Hoya last December at welterweight. Pacquiao seems too small for Chavez, even though the Mexican prospect has plenty of flaws. [details]

I just don't understand it. The Chavez camp actually thinks they'd win. He struggled tonight against a nobody. I can only imagine what happens when Jr. goes against a somebody.

Chavez seemed almost surprised when arum brought up his name. It's pretty clear they're looking to cash in on his name by chasing after DLH and Pac.

You know what we can make Money for Pac why not?? Maybe after Pac beats hatton, PBF & Cotto, then Pac can move up one more weight Class at 154. But Jr needs to get his belt real quick or l=else Pac will not waste time on him!
