Missing the spotlights and the adulation, problems with money -- these are enough to lure Mayweather back to the scene. Guys in his status should have been spending millions in short periods to support his lifestyle. And after a year and a half of being inactive, the memory of past glory is still haunting him. There's no doubt he's gonna come back inside the ring. But the Mayweather that he is, he still chooses who he fights with. Marquez' recent open challenge offers him a safer tune-up fight. Not against Berto. People won't bite it if he faces any of the lesser guys. Go get Marquez on July 11. Look at that fight as a necessary sparring game if he wishes to fight the Pac next. One warning though: Don't engage Marquez in a counterpunching match or it can go down in boxing history as the most boring fight of all time.

So all he could do was fight Arturo Gatti, whose manager tried to get out of the fight before being forced to accept it by the WBC.

I also say that his (Mosley's) "STYLE" against Marg wasn't really anything special/perfect. It was the fact that the "CHEAT" was caught and didn't have **** going into the fight. Put the "CHEAT" back in with Cotto again with "unloaded" gloves and he'll beat that ass (EASY).

100% Agree wit this, very true, people keep forgetting what happened before the bout, which IMO if that was to be caught before the COTTO fight then Mosley would still be down. Though he got a "good" win by beating Margacheato, everyone thinks he is now back as if he was in his prime, but i disagree on that.

Mosley is good and I respect him but I would rather see Cotto Mayweather or Pac Mayweather first off...
**** "Marg-a-cheato", no hate. He should be in jail.

Mayweather is the best and fights the best no matter what anyone in here "thinks". You DON'T become P4P "god" by fighting nobodies. Talk to Pac about that.... its just the truth.

Also agree in these BOLDS, u r right, its just that people are upset of the fact that there was wayyy more talent for him to just up n leave the sport which it make him seem like a coward IMO.

IMO Pac is going to "DESTROY" HATTON in a nasty (make you want to slap yo momma) embarrassing way, which will have Mayweather wanting to fight Pac. Current P4P VS Former P4P. It's where the MONEY'S AT pimpin! But that's just me.
This i HAVE to disagree because, eventhough Hatton has been looking bad in his past few fights, it was because he had lost to what was his dream and beat the best p4p which was Mayweather @ that point, but with him redeemed a bit and having another shot @ p4p BEST, i will 100% have to go Wit Hatton, he is bigger than Pac AND hits harder. Thats on MY facts.

Yea, and also Hatton has only looked bad at 147 - his last fight was at 140 and he looked great..

Good call BUT I disagree on Hatton looking good against a guy that "cant" punch. I watched Puali land a few (just a few) on Hatton that had him bothered. Pac will dance around him to outclass, out punch, out land and just over all out due anything Hatton attempts to bring.

Hatton is good but not great. I have MAD respect for Hatton though. I just in no way at all see him even being competitive with Pac. I actually think Del La Hoya in the state he was in with Pac would give Hatton a run for his money (would'nt win though). Again, I like Hatton I just see him getting tko/ko'ed and looking really really bad (to the point where people will say he needs to retire, like Del La Hoya).

Pac is just an all around great fighter who's been in wars and can take solid shots. The Mayweather punch that Ko'ed/tko'ed Hatton was IMO just perfectly timed and Pac will do the same when Hatton LEADS in. He'll be easily timed, and Ko'ed by Pac.

But that's just me. I really hope its competitive. I just don't see it. Again no hate towards Hatton, I just don't see him winning against Pac, let alone a rematch with Mayweather.

It’s not yet official, though it might as well be.

                  ... Sigh
